Campus Housing: BEST THING EVER – The residential college system helps foster a sense of family at Yale. It's a huge part of student life, and you've always got your residential college at your back.

Party Scene: We only have one local night club, though there are several bars scattered around town.

Local Area: It's a Handful – There's quite a bit to see and do, from the local restaurants to just places to hang out on the weekend. There are frequently events hosted by New Haven which provide a bunch of entertainment.

Guys & Girls: Guys and Girls – If girls are pretty they know they are pretty. And there are a lot of attractive girls here. I mean they are both smart and pretty, of course they are going to know that. Appearances can matter a lot to a big part of the population, it's all about impression, they're all nerds but want to prove that they can be cool too. This goes for both sexes. Some guys are cute, others hot, but they are all nerds.

Campus Quality: Yale=awesome. Everything is wonderful and they are really committed to their students

Athletics: Athletics is good and almost everyone is involved in the residential college intramural sports. Varsity sports is big among those participate, but with the exception of the popular Yale-Harvard Football Game, fan support is pretty minimal because Yale students are all busy doing their own thing. Yale Varsity have won NCAA Championship in a couple of varsity sports in 2010.

Diversity: Many Nationalities, Races, Cultures, Economic and Polical Backgrounds! Because of the awesome residential colleges, we all intermingle and socialize together - it's GREAT at Yale!

Off-Campus Dining: GREAT RESTAURANTS – I love the food options around campus. There are great restaurants that everyone develops and attachment for. Many of my graduated friends come back just to eat at certain restaurants. I developed a liking for Thai food since I arrived in New Haven. Thai taste, Thali Too, and Bespoke are all restaurants worth checking out!

Academics: Comparative Literature – Very flexible and open to cater to your own interests. The added foreign lit requirement is a plus from the English major, and forces you to really take a second language farther. The faculty have been amazing and are very accessible.

Off-Campus Housing: Available, If You Try – There are many apartments available around campus. I feel like everyone I know who wanted to live off campus found great housing options. I just don't know too many people who want to live off campus - the campus is so beautiful! Yale does not get involved in helping students find off-campus housing.

Transportation: Bus System – The bus system is very good. There are buses that take you anywhere on campus and there is a live feed that keeps you informed of where the buses are at what times. Sometimes the bus times are not consistent though.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drug Visibility – People definitely do drugs, especially marijuana, but also cocaine. The drug scene is pretty discrete though, you don't see people doing drugs everywhere you go, even though you know they are doing them.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Dining Hall – The main dining hall (commons) is really good. It has a wide variety of options, so there is always good options no matter what mood you are in.

Health & Safety: Not a Problem – Unless you've never been to a city before you'll be fine at Yale.

Parking: No Need for Cars – There is really no need for cars on campus. Everything is within walking distance (shopping, groceries, school supplies, etc.) and if you really need to go far from campus, you can rent a zipcar or take a bus for $1.25.

Administration: Not Strict at All – There are basically no rules, or if there are, they are not very enforced.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Cute Guys – Lots of preppy white guys, but there are definitely all kinds of guys on campus. The guys are usually pretty cute. There are a whole lot of good-looking girls here too.

Transportation: Very Easy to Use – Yale is an urban campus. Transportation is almost negligible.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: As Diverse as They Come – Yale is very diverse, with students from all 50 states and tons of foreign nations. You meet new people everyday from all over.

Off-Campus Dining: A Plethora of Options – New Haven is a great city for foodies. It has a ton of great ethnic and gourmet restaurants, as well as Gourmet Heaven, a 24-hr convenience store for late night eats.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: A Variety of Options – There are plenty of things for students to do here at night. If you are interested in the frat scene, there is usually at least one frat party every night Thursday-Saturday. They aren't too sketchy, and if you go with a friend you'll have a good time. On Saturday nights, Toad's, the local club, has its weekly dance party. 19 and up gets in for $5, and 21 and up is free. It's a hot, sweaty, dark, loud environment, which can be fun if you're in the mood. If dancing and drinking isn't for you, there's still a lot to do. A cappella concerts, movies, plays, musicals, small room parties... the list goes on and on. There's always something to do at Yale, and if you can't find what you're looking for, it's always easy to host your own get-together with our large common rooms and not-terribly-strict rules on parties if you keep the noise down. And since we're in the city, any night activity you're looking for is just a short walk away.

Athletics: Intramural Driven, With Small Pockets of Varsity Enthusiasm – Our varsity teams are not that good in general. The athletes work hard, but really we are only very talented in Squash, Sailing, Fencing, and Hockey. The enthusiasm for these sports is not very high, either. A lot of people go to hockey games, but for the most part a sporting event is not the most popular social event. Intramural sports, however, are very popular. most students play in at least one, and are very spirited when it comes to representing their residential college. That being said, there are great workout facilities, fields, and courts for varsity and intramural athletes, and for all students to use.

Overall Experience: Love It – I am so happy at Yale, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. My one, tiny problem with it is that it exposes you to so many cool ideas and people (as it promises) but because you're so busy, you can't do everything you want, and you have to work hard to keep up with friends who aren't in your immediate circle - you won't run into people if you don't have a reason to. So that's why it's an A- and not an A.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: The facilities are mostly really great. There are gyms in every residential college as well as the main one in a cathedral-like building, at least twenty libraries, many different dining halls (although they serve the same food) and so many resources at our disposal. The campus is beautiful, and there are so many performance spaces, practice spaces, art studios, etc. We don't have any kind of central student location, however, which isn't a huge deal, but would be nice. Another thing that would improve this category would be better proximity to the athletic fields from central campus.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There are quite a few frats, and six sororities (three traditional, three cultural). Parties are generally open to everyone, and it can be a huge part of your social life, or a nonexistent one. The frat houses are off-campus and generally pretty gross, but that doesn't matter if you're just there for a party.

Yale is, in every sense of the word, an incredible place. Students love the faculty, the classes, and the opportunities, not only because they are among the best in the world, but because they are highly accessible and undergraduate-focused. Yale is a place where academic theory blossoms into reality and where experiences exist that can't be found anywhere else in the world. It is a great privilege for students to continually study under the most knowledgeable people in their fields, from Nobel Laureates to international statesmen. Even though the Yale experience can be rigorous and demanding, most students wouldn't trade their years here for anything.

Yale prepares its students to meet the world with energy and knowledge. Its liberal arts education teaches students to think, to analyze, to question, and to consider. Yale graduates can do nearly anything they want, from working with Goldman and Sachs to obtaining a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology. Essentially, Yale successfully prepares its students for the pursuit of their passions in any area of life.

What ultimately sets Yale apart is the people that comprise its community. Yalies (students, faculty, and staff) are dynamic, fascinating people who continually surprise each other with their passions, their opinions, and their enthusiasm. Every student has a unique story to tell and interests to pursue. Yale is amazing because it gathers these diverse and remarkable individuals together for the same ultimate purpose: to learn, to grow, to thrive, and to discover themselves.
