Off-Campus Dining: It's the same foods and some places close early. Eventually it gets tiring eating the same thing. Though this is so, Wendy's does do discounts for students. WO's I guess is okay. Everyone goes there .

Off-Campus Housing: Im not sure about off campus housing. I dont live off campus. Im on campus

1 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There aren't really any parties forreal. The Province always gets shut down cause everybody just does the most.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: In a way, the school is not as strict as it may seem. There really is not much to be strict about. Everybody pretty much knows what to do and what not to do, and know the rules.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: As long as you fill out your FAFSA, you should be fine. For me, I got the aid but sometimes WSU likes to overcharge and things so it becomes difficult.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food is not the best. I only eat it when I need to quickly eat something or I'll use a vending machine. The food that is pre packaged is kinda dull. The meal plan I did have was better compared to this past school years.

Campus Housing: I literally love living on campus. It is such a great experience. The dorms are very close to campus and is like somewhat of a little town. The apartments are better and more spacious with a washer and dryer inside and including stoves and such.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: never applied for financial aid at wright state

Campus Food: food is great never had a problem with it

2 College Junior

Academics: Got a minor in my major at my previous college and comparing it to WSUs its like comparing a Porche to a FIAT. the College of Liberal Arts has way too many requirements, sometimes I feel like I am taking classes to fill these requirements not to help me in the real world, like 4 semesters of a foreign language. The teachers in the program are ok but the head of the major and advisors suck. I do not take classes sometimes specifically for criminal justice, sometimes having to take psychology, sociology, or political science classes that barely touch on the criminal justice system.

Academics: Teachers a great for the most part. They want to see you succeed and do well. Class load is a bit more than i experienced at another school though, but quite a few instructors offer extra credit & do take home tests. while scheduling classes use because some teachers have bad reputations or are very hard.

Campus Quality: Imo campus is pretty ugly but a lot of green space. There are a lot of places to study but often are not quiet, especially the library. The gym has nice equipment but is really small. WSU has plenty of modern facilities with great technology. Ive heard performing arts and science/research lab are awesome but that's not really things I experience being a criminal justice student.

Local Area: Dayton is one of the most affordable cities in America. Theres stuff to do if you look for it, Oregon District, the Greene, Air Force museum, Art museum, Dragons games, plenty of different parks, a lot of fairs and festivals in the summer. People in Dayton are pretty friendly too & the area around campus is surprisingly diverse due to its close proximity to the Air Force Base.

Health & Safety: Campus offers health insurance that's more affordable than the service my work provides, but I had to get a referral from the doc on campus to see my regular doctor.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Went there because close proximity to home, the only reason going to WSU. Compared to the other University I attended WSU can give you some headaches. Doesn't work well with students who have a career while taking classes, offer few online or night classes. As a transfer student had troubles getting classes I took at my alma mater to count for the same class at WSU. The College of Lib arts imo has way too many arbitrary requirements for graduating, seems I'm taking more classes to fulfill a requirement than classes that would help in my future career. Administration can be unhelpful depending on who you deal with but some are good/helpful, sometimes you just have to figure out things on your own. Although all these negatives my experience inside the classroom at Wright State has been great. Teachers are helpful and usually pretty EZ to work with, a lot give extra credit & take home tests. Classes can be challenging but its college so get used to it. Students can be a bit annoying, loud in the library, eat lunch/breakfast in class, spend entire lectures on phone/tablet, show up to class ridiculously late or leave in the middle; I may sound like an a-hole about this but i think its disrespectful to the instructor and other students. Overall WSU is not the best but its not the worst either.

Overall Experience: Instructors seem to want to see their students succeed. There seems to be a lack of distinguished professors though, at least in my major. Ive had a few classes taught by instructors with only a masters. One thing i do not like is that some instructors have the students each teach a chapter from the book which is frustrating because you pay for the instructor to teach the class not students.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I believe every program requires an internship which is awesome! But if you internship is unpaid its difficult to manage working, taking classes, and interning all at the same time.

Greek Life: Was in a frat at another university. At Wright State greek life is subpar, but kids in frats/sororities do not seem like they are better than other students which does happen at some colleges with a lot of greeks

3 College Junior

Athletics: Wright State has competitive teams and awesome facilities, Nutter Center & Baseball field are great for a school the size of WSU. Its a shame more students go to support athletic teams.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Plenty of apartments close to campus that vary in value and quality. Depends on how much you want to spend or how nice of an apartment you want.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Plently of restaurants close by in Beavercreek, Fairborn & RiverSide with many diverse options

2 College Junior

Party Scene: Wright State doesn't have a reputation of a great party school, but I'm a nontraditional student so I assume there are parties but nothing like UD or Ohio State. The bars around campus aren't that great either, but have cheap drinks.
