Off-Campus Housing: I haven't yet lived off-campus, but my friends have gone through the process. It's a very viable alternative to on-campus housing and has the added benefit of being a LOT less expensive.

Party Scene: It's literally the only party scene in the city of Worcester. WPI is the only Worcester school with Greek Life, so that means WPI is the party school.

Off-Campus Dining: I have not been to very many off-campus restaurants, but the few I have been to have been excellent in quality and variety. I have also heard from friends about off-campus dining, and I've heard nothing but positive reviews.

5 College Sophomore

Administration: I've never had any negative experiences with strictness on campus, so the fact it isn't noticeable probably means WPI isn't that strict.

Scholarships: The financial aid process itself is very smooth, but I have to stress one thing: get as MUCH aid as possible the first year, because WPI will NOT increase your financial aid for subsequent years even if your economic situation changes. Outside scholarships are your best friend. My tuition is all paid for but I still need money for actually living on campus, and WPI will not give me any more money.

Campus Food: If it wasn't so expensive it wouldn't be so bad. I had a meal plan my first year of school but I quickly ditched that the next year because the expense just isn't worth it. There's very little added convenience for such an inflated cost. I can spend less than half of what a meal plan costs and get better food. Only thing is I have to cook for myself, and that's really not much of a hassle.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is an overall okay experience.

Some of the good things about living on campus are the convenience: I don't have to worry about monthly payments or electricity or water usage, for example.

On the other hand, living on campus is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. It's almost not worth it. I could live off campus for less than half the cost of living on campus, food included!

1 College Junior

Campus Housing: Terribly overpriced and the lottery is a disaster.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are some less-safe areas around campus, where students' apartments have been robbed, damaged, and more, but there are some houses available in nicer areas, but those come with a higher cost. Overall, there is a variety, depending on what you're looking for.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The Boynton is a great restaurant and not too high-priced. There are some interesting options available on Highland street, such as Pure Juz, Boomer's, and The Sahara.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I wouldn't say "great" but rather "good".. the school is expensive, but they have a lot of money to give.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: There are very few food options on campus, and the dining hall is severely limited in its ability to prepare good food, and it is repetitive. However, the food is cooked to order a lot of the time.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: While the school is beautiful and the class sizes and content is good, the social atmosphere is very negative, and the environment is overall not a place conducive to learning.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are many opportunities, especially if want to share with 1 or 2 friends. You will feel also way better having your own room

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: We are not expecting anything special, but we just want to have a couple of places where to go

3 College Freshman

Administration: They are really strict in a lot of points, which is actually something good, but in some points they are more strict then necessarily

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: International students need the most help, and actually they dont get almost any help, so it is really hard for them and their family to take care of all those expenses

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: They are not really good organaized

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is ok, but the price is not. I would really like to have more options to choose of food since eating everyday the same thing becomes really annoying

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: A couple of the dorms have way too small rooms which you really want to avoid

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Somewhat hard to find due to safety reason.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are not that many choices for off-campus dining.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Our campus is fairly strict.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: Not a lot of opportunities for students, especially international students.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Parties are not fun sometimes but they give you the idea of party scene

Most people who decide to come to WPI absolutely love the school. The small, welcoming atmosphere is wonderful. Students tend to like the campus itself, too; it's beautiful, especially in the spring. Occasionally, people dislike the workload at the school, but many people would return to WPI if they had to do it all over again.

The community at WPI is the best feature of the school; it's what keeps people there, even though the work is tough. Joining a club or a sports team is a great way to make WPI feel like "home." Even though students can be 2,500 miles from home, they can feel like they have family on campus, through involvement in sports and clubs.
