Overall Experience: I liked that this school allowed me to focus on what I wanted to learn without requiring me to take unnecessary classes.

Overall Experience: It's a small school so you become very close to people, especially those in your department. Robotics is a fraternity itself! Greatest professors that I have every had the pleasure to encounter. WPI is a project-based school, so the projects are the BEST part of classes.

Overall Experience: I really loved my first year at WPI. There are plenty of clubs to join and there is something there for everyone to do. Many of the teachers are wiling to give extra help, you just have to ask!

Overall Experience: I love everything about my school. The classes are challenging but the professors are definitely there to help you learn, the food is good, the people are great, and the sports teams are very fun to play on.

Overall Experience: I love that everyone is motivated to learn and do well for 7 weeks and then we get a week break. Nice way to stay motivated throughout the year. There is a party scene but it doesn't take over campus

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There are many options for nightlife. If you want to hang out with friends but not be crammed and crowded in at a greek party, off campus apartments by friends are a great place!

Greek life is very big as well and the parties are always a fun time. There are different greek houses that provide different fun for varying preference.

Off-Campus Dining: WIth the Sole Proprietor, the Boynton, Boomers, Wooberry and everything in between, there are so many options for great food at decent prices and only minutes from campus!

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Very lenient and the school really trusts its students. However any trouble results in strict measures.

Campus Food: There are a wide variety of options for food in the dining hall and the staff is very accommodating and always looking to help! The rotation, especially towards the end of a term or the end of the year can be fairly dull but there are plenty of places such as the campus center, dunkin donuts and great off campus treats that are available!

Scholarships: Be honest and communicate with the financial aid office! Initially, I had received a generous financial aid package, however it still was not going to be enough to afford. I had written to the Dean of Admissions describing why WPI was the right school for me and why I would not be able to attend, and he happily increased my package to make it a feasible option. I am so grateful and because of it, have been able to become a member of the Class of 2018 at my dream school!

Campus Housing: WPI envelops students into its tight-knit community. There is not a day where students are not sharing food in the common room, studying together in the halls, celebrating achievements, and playing frisbee on the quad!

Campus Food: The options are pretty good. The Goat's Head is a nice change from DAKA's buffet style and there is good variety there. The Campus Center is a great option as well, however you must have a certain meal plan in order to use meal swipes there.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a variety of high quality and ethnic off-campus dining options immediately surrounding the campus. They are extremely convenient with average prices. A few of them offer discounts to students, especially after certain hours. Some of my favorite and most noted off-campus dining options are the following: The Sole Proprietor, Boomers, The Boynton, WooBerry, The Bean Counter.

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't yet lived off-campus, but my friends have gone through the process. It's a very viable alternative to on-campus housing and has the added benefit of being a LOT less expensive.

Party Scene: It's literally the only party scene in the city of Worcester. WPI is the only Worcester school with Greek Life, so that means WPI is the party school.

Off-Campus Dining: I have not been to very many off-campus restaurants, but the few I have been to have been excellent in quality and variety. I have also heard from friends about off-campus dining, and I've heard nothing but positive reviews.

5 College Sophomore

Administration: I've never had any negative experiences with strictness on campus, so the fact it isn't noticeable probably means WPI isn't that strict.

Scholarships: The financial aid process itself is very smooth, but I have to stress one thing: get as MUCH aid as possible the first year, because WPI will NOT increase your financial aid for subsequent years even if your economic situation changes. Outside scholarships are your best friend. My tuition is all paid for but I still need money for actually living on campus, and WPI will not give me any more money.

Campus Food: If it wasn't so expensive it wouldn't be so bad. I had a meal plan my first year of school but I quickly ditched that the next year because the expense just isn't worth it. There's very little added convenience for such an inflated cost. I can spend less than half of what a meal plan costs and get better food. Only thing is I have to cook for myself, and that's really not much of a hassle.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is an overall okay experience.

Some of the good things about living on campus are the convenience: I don't have to worry about monthly payments or electricity or water usage, for example.

On the other hand, living on campus is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. It's almost not worth it. I could live off campus for less than half the cost of living on campus, food included!

1 College Junior

Campus Housing: Terribly overpriced and the lottery is a disaster.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are some less-safe areas around campus, where students' apartments have been robbed, damaged, and more, but there are some houses available in nicer areas, but those come with a higher cost. Overall, there is a variety, depending on what you're looking for.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The Boynton is a great restaurant and not too high-priced. There are some interesting options available on Highland street, such as Pure Juz, Boomer's, and The Sahara.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I wouldn't say "great" but rather "good".. the school is expensive, but they have a lot of money to give.

Most people who decide to come to WPI absolutely love the school. The small, welcoming atmosphere is wonderful. Students tend to like the campus itself, too; it's beautiful, especially in the spring. Occasionally, people dislike the workload at the school, but many people would return to WPI if they had to do it all over again.

The community at WPI is the best feature of the school; it's what keeps people there, even though the work is tough. Joining a club or a sports team is a great way to make WPI feel like "home." Even though students can be 2,500 miles from home, they can feel like they have family on campus, through involvement in sports and clubs.
