Winston-Salem State is a great school for a student who wants somewhere small and easy to navigate so that was perfect for me. In most classes, the classroom settings are similar to those of a high school setting so my professors were able to give me a more one on one personal experience. Everyone at WSSU is very friendly and the professors really do show that they care for their students. I would definitely choose to attend WSSU because of the friendly environment and the academic system that it carries. The chancellor is also very interactive with his students as well which I find is very unique. He attends every event that he can and even sits with the students! A lot of students attend college for the grades as their most important aspect of school but the second most important should be for a student to get the full "college" experience and WSSU definitely provides that! Between school events, events in the caf, and even in the classroom WSSU has so much to offer and more!

I was somewhat scared my first day of class. I came from a small private school, so to be at a fairly large university was quite the culture shock. As time went on, things went ok. Nothing super great or just plain terrible happened. My GE advisor was the worst part. I was misled in the registration process, but as I got into my major my junior year, things started falling into place. I have found the people that I am sure I will be lifelong friends with. My classes are so great, although they are a struggle sometimes. I have the best professors in the world and I wouldn't trade any of them (even when they're super weird LOL). If I had to do all over, I'd still choose the same school. I'm part of the best family in the world...the RamFam!

From what I can tell, sports at WSSU are supported all the time. We have spirit days and many people do their best to get all their friends to the games. Football, baseball, and volleyball are huge on campus. We are bringing home the championship titles! Go Rams! I often have too busy of a schedule to participate in sporting events, but I always see pictures on our social media sites and there's always a crowd.
