4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on campus. I often walk to and from the library alone late at night. Anytime after 11 you have to check in at the dorms which is comforting when it comes to weekends.

Campus Housing: The rooms and buildings are fine. Most of the Resident assistants are a hassle to deal with and only want to get you in trouble.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: No one really cares about greek life at all. The frat guys are pretty stuck up but most sorority girls are pretty cool.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Athletics area fun to attend at Winona State University. But most people don't really care if you are in a sport or an athlete.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love it here. Its a beautiful campus and you really connect with the community.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Wiona State University is a user friendly school. Every one is willing to help around, and everyone is nice there. There are caring professors that could help you out. Tutoring services are great and are willing to be patient with you. Winona State University is a beautiful campus. I love how it's not too small nor is it too big. It's the perfect size for me. Which makes it easier to get to know professors.

Health & Safety: Our security is based on main campus. As a freshman, my whole class got rape whistles. So, they are trying to help in ways possible.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: So far in my college career, all my professors have been great! I really love that they are all willing to help! Making use of their office hours is a great way to get to know them and get the help when needed. It's always a great feeling when the professor knows your name in a lecture with easily 100 people.

Campus Housing: I lived on West Campus my freshman year. While it was nice to have a place to go home after classes, it was a hassle to always rely on the bus to get from main to west and vise versa. The cost of living in a dorm with a meal plan is also outrageous. The one thing I liked about living on West Campus was the size of the double rooms!

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am not part of Greek Life at all. Many students who are in Greek Life love every minute of it, but those who are not often think they are cliquey.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Although our football stadium is not great by any means, the other facilities available to the students are! The IWC has so many opportunities available for all kinds of students. The group workout classes are very fun as well, and highly attended.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: If you are an outdoor person, there are many things to do! Being able go to the lake and paddle board/kayak, hike at multiple locations, climb sugar loaf, etc. are all amazing. Beyond these activities though there is not much to do in Winona. So, in order to feel part of the community/make the most of one's college career, joining clubs at WSU is huge. WSU does have several clubs that are all welcoming and should interest one in one way or another.

Health & Safety: For the most part, I feel safe on campus.

Campus Housing: The dorm rooms are not sound proof at all and you can hear everything.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: This school has been nothing but great to me. The only thing I don't like is the grading system.

2 College Sophomore

Academics: If you have a good professor and try hard, you'd do just fine and have a great experience. However, bad professors plague this university. The biggest improvement the university could make is to get rid of terrible professors and pay more attention to the good ones.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: It's a wonderful town with a loving community, bad things usually never happen.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Winona is so close to being everything you'd want out of a college. The community is great, I love the serene wilderness surrounding it, and I've made some wonderful friends. However, the professors and some of the staff can get unbearable. It's simply obscene that the school would let certain professors to continue to do their job so poorly under the Winona name! It's so close to being what you want, that the proximity to an ideal standard almost makes it worse. The fact that it barely misses the mark is immensely frustrating.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Many computer science and graphic design students walk out with jobs... If you can get thought the program. Graphic Design is definitely moving forward, but Comp Sci is looking like a lost cause. Unless you're already fluent with coding, you won't succeed.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Most of us avoid the hell out of it because of the intense parties they throw, and that's mostly all they're noted for. Fraternities and Sororities are typically best avoided.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I have never actually participated in the organized athletic aspects of campus, I've only been hiking recreationally. However, the student opinion is that its a wonderful community with a staff who care.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Winona is a wonderful place, especially great outside of school if you like the outdoors as its surrounded by bluffs. The university, however, is not without its flaws. I've had some wonderful professors, but I've also had horrid professors. The Computer Science department was largely composed of professors with no idea how to teach were terribly rated by their students. and though there are exception professors in the Graphic Design program, there are many who are just as bad as those in computer science. This is, however, a nursing school, so this is partially to be expected, but some of the problems the staff has at this school are inexcusable.
