Drug Safety

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: Williams has a very welcoming culture regarding alcohol and drugs. If you're into it, great. If not, also great.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Many students drink. Some smoke marijuana and once in a while its smell can be felt in hallways.

Drug Safety: Its Not a Huge Issue – Most people drink, alot of people smoke weed. But if you dont want to be around it, you dont have to. People stay hidden for the most part if they smoke. No one is pressured to do anything they dont want to do. Everyone realizes the value of athletics and academics and a moral code. As is in most colleges, the way to socialize is to go out and drink and go to parties. But you can do it without. Its such a small school that no one cares and there arent really normal limitations that you'd see at a bigger school.

Drug Safety: Wiliams Is Not for Hardcore Drug-Users – Drugs are not too common at Williams. Because it is such an athletic campus, the student body in general is quite health-conscious. There is some marijuana in the dorms, but it is not too popular. Drinking is very common and drives the weekend party scene.

Drug Safety: You're a Part of It If You Want to Be – As far as alcohol goes, it's pretty common and the only time security really comes is if there is a complaint about noise but it's cool and for the most part in a controlled environment. As to other drugs I'm sure it happens but its not something you hear about a lot.

As most students indicate, there is hardly a drug scene at Williams. Yet, there’s always that voice in the corner saying that the drug scene is flourishing if you know where to look.

The drug scene gets an A- at Williams since it's not visible at all, and the College could probably get an A. Meanwhile, students say that it's a fact that no one would be pressured into doing drugs at Williams, and that those who wish to forget that drugs exist can do so easily on this campus.
