Campus Housing

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Few amenities, but there is a nurse practitioner and gym in the basement of Ely. Social atmosphere is clique-y and dependent on other activities. Rules are not often enforced. Ely rooms are tiny, and the building is old. Bathrooms are being fully renovated for the 2016-17 school year. Close proximity to campus.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Most of the dorms feel and look like prisons. There are few housing options that are nice and they are pricier, further away from campus, and mostly limited to Greek housing.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Campus life is about opening up to making new friends. Not just friends to know through college but friends that become life long quintessences. Getting accepted to William Jewell means that you have to commit to living on campus all four years of college. Some might find that as a disadvantage but Jewell college courses require a commitment of hour long studies and sometimes a heavy work load. Committing to live on campus all four years gives one the advantage of surrounding themselves with people who are in the same major. One is never without help at anytime of day or night.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: William Jewell requires students to live on campus in the dorms all four years for several reasons. The main one being due to the vigorous nature of the academic programs at WJC. The faculty and staff of Jewell want to ensure that all of the students are successful, and therefore, living on campus puts all of the students near campus where they can easily have access to the resources provided for their academic success. Also, students are recommended to live on campus all four years because it allows them to have the true undergraduate experience, which is extremely rewarding! Only those who petition for health, financial, or other extreme reasons are permitted to live away from the campus. But trust me, living in the dormitories is beneficial, as you meet a lot of great people and it is extremely convenient!
