5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Everyone is helpful, and welcoming. This was especially great during that first semester when everything feels new and transitional. I love attending all activities for free, and being in a big city where job and internship opportunities abound.

Overall Experience: WSU is great because of the variety of people you find. I have friends from all walks of life, and my teachers have all been vastly different from each other. Public speaking was an experience I wouldn't mind doing again; I hate talking in front of people because of crippling anxiety, but my instructor made the class fun and relaxed so it wasn't so nerve-wracking.

4 College Senior

Athletics: I think Wichita State has a great group of sports programs, not the best, but great.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: It's a bit difficult to navigate, whether by website or calling. I have figured it out though.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus housing is poor to say the least. Over-priced for the quality.

Off-Campus Dining: Wichita has so many different and amazing places to eat off campus. The food is reasonably priced and good.

4 College Senior

Administration: I haven't had any issues with the school's strictness.

Campus Food: Chick-fil-A and Pizza Hut are great, a bit expensive, but I love them. Blimpie's is also exceptional. Shocker Dining Hall is a cheap alternative with okay food.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: It would be nice if there was more information about school scholarships but it is easy to get other forms of financial aid.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There is some apartments close to campus but not a ton of options.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Sometime the the frats and sororities throw parties but other than that there isn't any big parties just some small house parties.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Your within 5-10 minutes of the mall so there are a lot of options located close to the campus.

3 College Freshman

Administration: The on-campus police are pretty friendly and helpful.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The new dining is good and there is nice variety of other options around campus to choose from.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The new dorm is really nice; the only downside is not being able to park on campus if you live in the new dorm.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Easy access is great but not a large variety of healthier options due it mostly being fast food chains.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: School spirit and fan support for our athletes on campus is great. We are all Shockers to the core and regardless of if we are sports people or not we support and cheer on our team.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: It is more common to commute than to live on campus. Immediate off campus housing is not great quality or great for safety. The nearby neighborhood is not especially safe and I do not recommend trying to live in close by off campus housing.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I know the Fraternities and Sororities do parties sometimes but due to not living on campus I have not been to any parties on campus and therefore do not know how many there normally are.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Parking is now once again permit required. They give tickets constantly. It is $25 per parking ticket when you do not have a permit where they can see it. There is still some limited free parking on campus if you are okay with taking shuttles or getting more exercise.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The Ratigan Student Center has great seating available and multiple food and beverage options in close proximity on the main floor as well as Shocker Grill downstairs.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Most of the restaurants are the greasy fast foods. The variety is not great either.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The process can be stressful at times, but in the end I received my financial aid.

Campus Food: Because I don't have much money or a meal plan, I don't eat on campus much. I always loved eating at Blimpies because it offers fresh and healthy ingredients year round. Unfortunately it is more expensive. I usually end up eating at Taco Bell or Shocker Grill for cheap options.

Off-Campus Dining: I typically bring my lunch or eat off campus. There is always a number of good options if you have the time to get it. Make sure you go to a good part of town though.
