Off-Campus Dining

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: When I go off campus for food, I'm just glad to get off campus - doesn't matter to me where I go!

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: i don't know much about it

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are a few good options within walking distance. If you have a car, its a lot easier though

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Los Burritos is the best late night food option. It's pretty much the equivalent of going out for drinking/parties at Wheaton except eating burritos isn't against the Community Covenant.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of great places to eat at in Wheaton, like Muldoon's or the Bank.

Finding a quality meal off-campus is as simple as taking a five-minute stroll into downtown Wheaton and stopping in at one of the many various restaurants. If you have access to a car, your dining options are nearly limitless! And if you still want bigger and better things, a 45-minute train ride will take you to the smorgasbord that is Chicago. If you want to stay close to campus, you can take your pick from restaurants such as Chipotle, Mai Thai, Front Street Cantina, the parent-pleasing Romano's Macaroni Grill, or the legendary Los Burritos Tapatios. Naperville, a 15-minute drive away, is home to the popular burger joint Five Guys Burgers and Fries, as well as a series of higher-class dining options. For those of you looking for a place to take a date, Naperville restaurants are right next to a romantic riverwalk. If it’s an extra special occasion and you want to venture into the city, be sure to check out Giordano’s for some famous Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.

College students typically don’t have a ton of extra cash lying around, especially considering the cost of maintaining a meal plan, so the frequency of off-campus dining is pretty low. There are, however, a few exceptions to this rule that are worth noting. Denny’s is the favorite 24-hour restaurant for those who need to pull an all-night cram-fest and need pancakes and coffee to get through. La Spiaza is that one-of-a-kind coffee shop that has live music performances. Yo Yo Land is frozen yogurt heaven. And Los Burritos is THE late-night hangout for nearly every hungry Wheatie. Whether you’re looking for a midnight snack, craving that Ethiopian dish they don’t serve in SAGA, or eager to test your arteries with three inches of cheese, you won’t be disappointed. Unless you happen to get hungry around 10 p.m. and don’t want greasy fast food. Then you’re just out of luck.
