Drug Safety

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I know many of my peers drink and/ or smoke. I don't, and no one has ever pressured me to do anything I don't want to do. I have also never personally seen anyone be out of control, although I have heard stories.

Drug Safety: A lot of people use party drugs, I feel like it's just as accepted as drinking alcohol. Most people drink too. It's kind of hard being on the outside because you never get invited to anything when people know you don't drink, but there isn't a lot of peer pressure in other ways. It's just the fact that you get left out if you don't participate.

Drug Safety: I have heard of a few cases of people being caught with drugs and drug paraphernalia, to my knowledge it usually results in confiscation, yet no charges are pressed, luckily. Though drug use is present within some of the students, not once have I felt pressured to use or felt like it was necessary to have a good time.

Drug Safety: Most kids do drugs, drink or go to parties. Most people do it on a regular basis, but I wouldn't say its hard not to party and have friends. You just have to be more creative especially with the lack of nightlife in SLC.

Drug Safety: I never feel peer pressure when it comes to alcohol or drugs here in Westminster. There are not that many people smoking weed comparative to other colleges. Drinking happens but also in a limited amount.

As with most colleges, some students choose to partake in drugs. It is not a huge amount, and it is, of course, illegal. The most popular drugs around campus are alcohol and marijuana—though students have been in trouble for many others, including hallucinogens, pills, etc.

There is also a rave scene that has flooded Westminster's campus—not that all ravers do drugs. There are dubstep concerts and clubs in which drug use is more apparent. Whenever drugs or alcohol are found in underage students' rooms, these students are generally reprimanded, and in the case of drugs, kicked off campus.
