2 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking is pretty bad here. I didn't brig my car but it was a struggle for my friends...

2 College Senior

Parking: It cost a lot of money for a parking pass ($300) for the year and there are hardly any available spots open. You have to get to campus right at 7:50 am if you want a spot.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Most of the Res halls are full unless you get your spot early.

3 College Junior

Parking: Parking is a little easier as a grad student because a lot of students are leaving when I am arriving. The few times I've had to be on campus during the day, it's been a little difficult to find to find parking, but never impossible.

3 College Freshman

Parking: I feel the parking costs are way too high, some tickets are not reasonable at all, and sometimes parking spots are very difficult to get.

Parking is one of the biggest issues at Western Michigan. The parking permit prices are outrageous for a few designated areas corresponding to a parking pass. Expect to pay between $250 and $300 for a yearly pass, and by yearly, that means both fall and spring semesters. There are parking spots all over campus with meters attached to them that require 25 cents for 10 minutes of time.

Parking Services will ticket you if you are not in a designated parking spot, and the officers are very good at their jobs. Parking tickets are around $10 to $15, and they double after 10 days. If you accumulate more than three unpaid tickets or a total more than $30, Parking Services will put a hold on your account, which will not allow you to register for classes for the following semester. This hold also transfers to towing if you park on campus with unpaid tickets. Parking on campus can be compared to a circus, due to the large volume of students trying to park. Near popular class times, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., finding a spot to park is nearly impossible.
