There are plenty of places to enjoy a meal off campus for Western students. There is a great variety of restaurants in terms of food choices and ethnicities, including Chinese, Mexican, sushi, and even Ethiopian cuisine. Food off campus in the Kalamazoo area is reasonable, and many of these restaurants hold daily specials and discounted prices for students when they show their IDs. Some of these restaurants are fast and convenient, but others are sit-down and buffet style. Most portion sizes at these restaurants are considerably large, even with a student menu.

From breakfast to lunch to dinner, Kalamazoo has everything you can imagine in terms of dining. In the downtown area, there are many fine-dining establishments, as well as joints designed to be cheap and affordable for a college student's budget. Many of these restaurants are open very late, 2 a.m. or later, to cater to a college student's schedule.
