Though WKU is not known for athletic prowess, sports still bring students together and foster a sense of WKU spirit. The most popular sports, football and basketball, are met with painted fans, signs, excitement, and enthusiasm. Tailgating is a huge activity, and the student sections of both basketball and football games are nearly always packed. Most other sports fade into the background, but it is these sports that bring home the trophies. Though the basketball team is good, they haven't brought home consecutive Sun Belt Conference championships like the track team. The swim team and women's soccer team are also both champions, but, unfortunately, people don't go to these games, follow the teams religiously, or get dressed up for them.

Club teams and intramurals are also often overlooked. Though sports from basketball to lacrosse to flag football to rugby are thoroughly enjoyed by many students, they receive little attention from the general student population. What has received attention lately is the dazzling new gym, which features tons of new machines and cardio equipment with built-in TVs! Perfect for keeping off the Freshman 15!

Best Place to Take a Walk
Walking around campus is really beautiful, and you get your workout walking up the hill! If you are looking for something else, walking just over the top of the hill takes you into downtown Bowling Green. While farther into downtown can become a little "sketchy," the area close to campus has tons of beautifully restored houses. Fountain Square Park has a little bit of green space, and is surrounded by galleries, night clubs, coffee shops, etc. in historic buildings.
