3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I do not know much about the Greek life.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: It is okay but things are definitely growing in Morgantown.

2 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I am not a partier.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: A lot of computers available in the libraries and computer labs.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Winters are terrible here because the PRT breaks down.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I enjoy my classes and professors in the Exercise Physiology department.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I currently live off campus because the dorms are both expensive and not nice.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Many girls go tanning and are superficial. Almost EVERYONE drinks- nerds, Greeks, everyone.

4 College Junior

Academics: The workload is fairly easy, but it also depends on which professors you have. There are tons of internship opportunities if you put yourself out there.

Administration: If you're not acting like a complete idiot, the cops probably won't bother you. But definitely be respectful and mind your manners.

3 College Junior

Local Area: The atmosphere is cool, especially downtown. There are also great places to travel if you have a car within 10 miles of the main campus.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Monday through Friday 9 am - 9 pm, the transportation is great (except when the PRT breaks down). But the buses are pretty reliable, calling a cab in the evening can take up to an hour, and if you don't live downtown, it is pretty important to have your own car.

4 College Junior

Majors: I really enjoy the marketing program. The professors are great and very helpful with career goals.

5 College Junior

Majors: I had no problem getting into the program. Since my high school GPA and SAT scores were high enough, I didn't even have to go through the application process and I was a direct admit (awesome!)

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: There is a LOT of alcohol visibility- at every football game and warm day on campus you will see people drinking and/or smoking outside excessively.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: There is always something to do here! The student rec center is great.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: The closer you are to campus, the poorer quality of housing. There are vey nice off-campus housing options, with plenty of amenities, but they are not anywhere close to being within walking distance.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: Dining halls have good days and bad days. Stalnaker has pretty decent food, but definitely check out the menu online before spending your meal plan there.

4 College Senior

Academics: I like my field of study

3 College Senior

Athletics: I don't like how the athletics get special privileges

4 College Senior

Majors: I enjoy my creative arts program

3 College Senior

Local Area: It is a college town

4 College Senior

Scholarships: just get things in on time

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: They kinda suck but whatever

4 College Junior

Local Area: There is a lot of shopping, bars, sporting events, etc. in Morgantown. Since I don't live on or near campus I only come to town if/when needed so I don't usually partake in events. Safety can be an issue at night.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Overall, students have made it pretty clear that they are really enjoying their time at WVU. Looking back through this book, it can be seen that WVU has garnered many high grades for subjects such as social scene, academics, and athletics. It is clear that there are many things the school excels in. The aforementioned are huge parts of campus life at WVU, and the students have said nothing but good things about them. While there were many high grades, there were a few grades that show the University could still improve in certain areas. It is clear that the campus dining services are not doing a great job pleasing the students, nor is the parking situation on campus. Considering these are two pretty important things on a college campus, the University should quickly take the right steps to move those two issues into a positive direction.

The attitude at WVU seems pretty split between academics and social events. While most students attend WVU with the expectation of a great education, there are a select few who come to WVU because of the potential party scene. Either way, WVU offers something for each side. With each incoming class comes the promise to improve upon faults and provide students with the best possible experience and education. The athletics program is on the rise and on the verge of gaining national prominence. The academic programs are showing promise as more WVU graduates are gaining recognition for their accomplishments. WVU is a student-oriented university, and should be considered by incoming freshmen who want to be treated to a great college education and experience.
