Health & Safety: There have been incidents at WVU, but overall, I know that the campus police are everywhere and are very alert, especially during the night. I feel very safe here.

Campus Housing: I stayed in Summit hall and had an okay experience!

Greek Life: Greek life is okay. Some people love it, some people hate it. No one treats you differently if you don't participate, which is great, but some of the girls can be really clique-y and snobby, and there are obviously a lot of issues with some of the frats on campus. Overall, however, they seem to be doing great things for our school and community, and some of the sororities even seem like real sisterhoods.

Athletics: WVU athletics are the pride of our school. However, I never feel like the athletes get too much attention from professors or anything like that, so it's great to have a fair and equal faculty at the school. I love going to our sporting events!

Overall Experience: I definitely wouldn't want to go to school anhywhere else! WVU is unlike any other school in the nation.

Party Scene: So many options. Frats, Clubs, Bars. It's there when you want it. If you are a big partier I recommend joining a Frat. Fall semester I felt was way crazier/fun then the second. Everyone calms down spring semester, and theres no football.

Party Scene: You have to see it to believe it

Academics: Honestly, I think WVU's academics are very underrated. The classes are tough, you have to work hard if you want all A's. The education is no different from the big "smart" schools. We just pay $100,000 less and get to enjoy a way better football team.

Diversity: So diverse it's unreal. You meet people from every different state. Sometimes countries. So many different kinds of people but they are all just as awesome.

Campus Housing: I lived in towers and it had its pros and Cons. First off all, I had a blast, I met so many people and it was so easy. Everyone is so nice and just wants to make friends too. Towers is far away though from everything but the rec. If i could do it over again I would live in summit. One thing that i noticed is the people who live downtown are more of the party people. (Guys, better looking girls) And the people on Evansdale are either athletes or people who want to party occasionally.

Athletics: I have siblings/cousins/friends at big schools like Clemson, Penn State, Pitt, Uconn, Maryland, and Ohio state. I will tell you right now, none of those schools have school pride like WVU does. The football games are crazy fun, basketball games are also a blast. WVU is division 1 BIG-12 athletics. This is big-time.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: It's really not to popular. I'm not in a frat and I have a blast every weekend. Under 10% of the school is in greek life. However, I know my friends that are in greek life love it.

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on campus. I would be a little careful off-campus. There could be some sketch areas.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: It's college come on. There is going to be alcohol and drugs at every school. If you want to hangout with people who do this, you'll find people. And if you want to hangout with people who don't. You will still find people.

Overall Experience: I had a 3.8 GPA coming out of high school so when people knew I was going here they were very shocked based on West Virginia's past reputation. After recently finishing my freshmen year I can easily say that this school was the best choice for me. There are so many amazing things WVU has to offer it is amazing. The reputation has been moving in a positive trends and I really think that in 5-10 years, A degree from this school will be impressive on a resume.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: OK so the help is all there if you want it. But you gotta want it. There are so many clubs with opening positions relative to a persons major for resume boosters. There are so many nice wonderful people in the career department helping you boost your resume and find a job. They email you all updates, go take advantage of them!

Health & Safety: There aren't any issues that have been made public. I am remaining vigilant regarding updates on special security measures, police and safety services.

Greek Life: I am unable to rate this at this time. I have not attended college yet.

4 College Student

Athletics: Football and basketball are the most widespread event enjoyed by the students.

Overall Experience: I have decided to go into the nursing program because of the wonderful opportunities of internship and career possibilities after I finish with my schooling.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It is convenient and cost less than renting an apartment

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I would choose this school again because they offer what I need and it is about a two and a half hour drive from home.

It also is also right by Ruby Memorial where I can inturn in nursing.

Overall, students have made it pretty clear that they are really enjoying their time at WVU. Looking back through this book, it can be seen that WVU has garnered many high grades for subjects such as social scene, academics, and athletics. It is clear that there are many things the school excels in. The aforementioned are huge parts of campus life at WVU, and the students have said nothing but good things about them. While there were many high grades, there were a few grades that show the University could still improve in certain areas. It is clear that the campus dining services are not doing a great job pleasing the students, nor is the parking situation on campus. Considering these are two pretty important things on a college campus, the University should quickly take the right steps to move those two issues into a positive direction.

The attitude at WVU seems pretty split between academics and social events. While most students attend WVU with the expectation of a great education, there are a select few who come to WVU because of the potential party scene. Either way, WVU offers something for each side. With each incoming class comes the promise to improve upon faults and provide students with the best possible experience and education. The athletics program is on the rise and on the verge of gaining national prominence. The academic programs are showing promise as more WVU graduates are gaining recognition for their accomplishments. WVU is a student-oriented university, and should be considered by incoming freshmen who want to be treated to a great college education and experience.
