Off-Campus Dining: Mostly too expensive to afford. Everyone orders takeout from the same Thai restaurant.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are some okay restaurants in the Ville. But the nicer ones are in Boston.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The nearby town has great food that's too expensive for most college students. However, a 40 minute bus ride takes us into Boston and Cambridge which have fantastic restaurants, cafes, and diners.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a copious amount of food options, but most of them are not within walking distance. A car is needed to get to most of them.

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of student-friendly stores and a mix of chains and local restaurants.

Boston is a foodie's paradise, and the town of Wellesley isn't too shabby either. One advantage to being in the upscale 'burbs is access to well-known restaurants. Also nearby, in the shopping center wastelands of Framingham and Natick, are chain restaurants, such as TGI Friday's and Chili's. The Ville has Thai, Italian, Asian fusion, and gourmet "truck stop" food down. Delivery isn't plentiful, and restaurants that cater to late-night munchies are few and far between, but there's no lack of places to take your parents.

Between Boston, Cambridge, and (with a little bit of driving) even the fishing communities of the Massachusetts coast, you can satisfy cravings for every imaginable food. So, if you've got the dough, you can sample everything from haute cuisine to fantastic greasy pizza.

Did You Know?
  • Wellesley students are lucky to live near hundreds of great restaurants. The North End is Boston's Little Italy, and Chinatown has several blocks packed with restaurants.
  • Ken's Steak House, the home of Ken's Steak House dressing, is just down the road from Wellesley. The restaurant has been around since 1941.
  • Apparently only about 35 of Boston's 840 restaurants serve fast food.
