Campus Resources: Student Library is excellent! Resources are easily available including links to Grammarly and other programs that help with your writing projects. The research library access is very eclectic.

Academic Experience: The professors seem to have a very strict position on student relationships and expectations. There is not much communication, besides what is mentioned in the syllabus. The workload is heavy, with many assignments each week. However, you do have a week to complete each assignment. The registration process is really easy and the enrollment advisors are great at keeping in touch. There are several study groups, online chats, and tutoring sessions.

Academic Experience: I am working towards a major in Psychology. My future carreer will be geared towards psychology and young children. This school allows me to not only get my degree, but to have an extra concentration on the subject of my choice. I am able to get a psychology degree, with a concentration on child development. I love that my college is able to do that for me. The course work is challenging, but it is exactly what I need.

Academic Flexibility: I love how flexible my school is with my class schedule. I take classes all online, because it is the only way I can fit school into my busy schedule. I attended other colleges before settling into this one and I could never find the right school for my schedule. Unfortunately, many of my credits did not transfer, so that put me behind a bit. I have had a few setbacks, but I think this is the school for me.

Academic Flexibility: The main reason I chose Walden is the online opportunity and the doctoral program. I have to work and attending classes online work for me.

Campus Resources: The support system - library resources, advisors, financial aid and instructors have all been wonderful. The residency options have been unique opportunites for me.

Tuition & Financial Aid: It would be wonderful to have more scholarships available for public health students.

Online Courses: The course workload is high, and requires a great deal of discipline if student's want to succeed. It is not a problem for me, as I do not currently work due to disability, but the weekly assignment workload is challenging for students who work, or have a family. There is some flexibility, as far as how often you must log into class, students have the entire week to complete assignments by their due dates, and how many peer responses are required per week. We are currently using blackboard, which has just been updated to make it more user friendly. There is typically excellent professor-student relationships, most professors highly participate in discussions, they provide excellent feedback for improvement, and there is a lot of peer interaction occurring on a weekly basis throughout a course. It is difficult to form peer social relationships, which is one thing that is particularly challenging in an online setting. Lack of face-to-face interaction is the one thing that is missing in online settings, but the opportunity to attend college online compensates for the personal challenges that people may face if they could only attend a traditional campus.

Student Body: The student body attending Walden University is highly diverse. It is an international Laureate university, with students from all over the world. There are people from every culture and sub-culture, including all of the characteristics listed above. It enables us to learn from each other in very unique ways, with an opportunity to teach others about the cultures to which we each belong. There have been some challenges with regards to acceptance, but mainly from people with strongly negative beliefs. The biggest issue arises when students like me, who are members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender population challenge people's religious convictions. We continue to make strides towards acceptance, through education, sharing experiences, and applying course content to real-world problems faced by many populations.

Academic Experience: On the whole, the professors are top -notch, and have met or exceeded my expectations. Many of the professors have been role models, who I aspire to be like. Overall, the registration process is done with the assistance of academic advisors, and students are automatically enrolled in courses, according to one's plan of study, and the fulfillment requirements for one's major. The curriculum exceeds my expectations, as far as preparing me to be a psychology professional. One of the biggest programs associated with Walden University is their goals and mission to create scholars of change. The social change agenda is one which is important to me, and one of the reasons why I chose Walden.

Academic Experience: While the workload in the psychology program is extensive, I will be well prepared for entry into the professional field as a psychology professor, and a researcher for the social sciences. I do not know if they offer internships, as I am not quite ready for that as of yet. The school is completely online, so there are no facilities to speak of.

Career Services: Although they have a career services department, they do not actually help you find a job. They do give advice on networking, developing a good resume, cover letters, and help you determine the jobs for which you are best qualified and suited.

Campus Resources: Lots of resources available to students to take advantage of.

5 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: They worked hard to get me my pell grant and my student loans.

Student Body: Most of the students are great to work with. The difficulty I find is my college in online based. Lots of students from other countries that speak broken English which makes it hard to communicate.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Since there is not campus there aren't many resources for social events, but the library and resourses for assisting with the education are top notch.

Academic Experience: I wish there was a way to interact more on a one to one basis. I prefer the classic class room setting to online, but I will continue my classes for the next year til I finish. It's hard to wait for responses from students and instructors when you are focused on completing a paper or project at the time.

Student Body: The student body is diverse. since it is an online school, there are many from different countries studing in the same class at the same time. Most are people going back to school to start a different career. It's hard to interact with them personnally due to it being online and not face to face as a brick and morter school would have.

Academic Experience: I like the ability to explore of my current career and incorporate it into my studies. The program is flexible where I can do one class or more each quarter. The classes are focused on specific degrees and I don't have to worry about doing any extra excessive course work that doesn't pertain to what I am achieving.

Campus Resources: The Walden online experience has been a very positive one. They have provided their students with immediate help from advisors from start to finish. The allow students to join online communities to ensure that there is still a campus feel.

Campus Resources: My experience is purly online so I am not sure about the campus resources Walden provides. As far as their online community goes it is amazing. They provide opportunities to connect with other online students who are in your same course for discussions and questions.

Campus Resources: My entire Walden experience is online. They do a great job with keeping the online center running smoothly and I always have immediate access to an advisor if I don't understand something completely.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Walden offered me a $3,000 grant for registering this semester. The Mental Health Counseling Master's Program is one of the only accredited programs that are completely online. The money spent is well worth the education I'm receiving. This will further my professional career once I decide to seperate from the USAF.

Online Courses: I was first skeptical of on-line classes and unsure of how much I would learn. However, I feel that on-line classes have made me a more active participant in class discussions. I am also more thoughtful with my responses and take more time to read the required reading materials before I post a response. Posting a response is very different than raising your hand in class. Posting a response is more permanent, and as I result I am more thoughtful with my response. I also feel like I have become a better writer as a result of the classes I have taken. The feedback from professors and feedback from the writing center have helped improve my writing skills.

Academic Flexibility: My experience so far at Walden has been very convenient. The on-line program allows me the opportunity to complete the course work on my own schedule. The in-person residencies and accessibility of my mentor help balance the on-line program with a personal touch. When I first began the program an academic advisor took time to review my course requirements and periodically checked in with me to see that I was on track. Since my first quarter I was assigned a mentor. My mentor has been extremely attentive and informative. She is very accessible. I have spoken with her by phone and I am frequently in touch with her through email. At the beginning of each quarter I am required to make a quarter plan with my intended goals. At the end of each quarter I review the goals and report back on my progress. This system has helped me keep on top of my work and on top of my progress. I was also able to decide which course track I would follow. I selected the KAM model which allows me to pursue independent research projects in place of some class requirements. The independent research projects provide me with the opportunity to enhance my research skills in preparation for my final dissertation.
