Online Courses: I like online classes because I don't have to worry about driving, being late to class or looking for a parking space. One of the unique feature of online class is the use of technology. I have gained a lot of experience with technology that comes with internet and computer since I have been taking online courses. Even though it is online, I interact a lot with other students via charting room, instant messaging, emailing, blogging, phone calls, texting, discussion room, etc. Registration process is easy and quick because the school does my course registering automatically and I don't have to worry about that.
I have a good relationship with my instructors and can always communicate with them via discussion room, emailing, texting, phone calls, chart room etc.

Academic Experience: My program is runs for 12 weeks 2 courses per cycle, overall it is 2.5 years. It is alot of work but it has been worth it for me thus far. The learning resources are provided or information is given on how they are to be obtained. Staff is very helpful and students assist as well. There is a practicum aspect to my course which may open up job opportunities later on.

Campus Resources: As an online student there have been times when the blackboard has had technical problems, these were quickly rectified however, and notices were received about the interruptions. .

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I attend classes online but the resources are just as good, classes, teachers the library are all easily accessible.

Academic Flexibility: My main reason attending Walden is the flexibility of the class schedule. Knowing I can do my homework assignments on my timeline but within the due dates is the best part of attending online. Small classes, flexibility, and consistency with professors are all great reasons to attend Walden but the fact I am acquiring a valuable education is the best reason above all.

Student Body: Walden University is an online university so the student body is immense and diverse. Many students are even from other countries providing different cultural views and perspectives.

Academic Flexibility: All classes at Walden University are online making the classes and curriculum extremely flexible. The flexiblity allows working adults to work and manage school into their schedule.

Campus Resources: Like many online schools, apathy begins to set in after they received all those huge student loans funds from students, and at Walden, it shows.
The sales pitch is "go to school, go to school or you will be a loser" so unfortunately people borrow (like my self) 5 figures to purchase their degree with no guarentees attached.
I have a neice who is opting out school and going to the Air Force.
I do not blame her.

Academic Experience: I am a business major and the online classes are not what you would expect but even better. It is mandatory that you participate in discussions for a better grade which allows you to network and communicate with various people from various countries. Also, due to Walden's age restrictions (no one under 25) it is a mature class environment of working professionals with years of experience and 'hands-on' knowledge in their field of study. Most are just adding credentials to their resume. The workload is what you would expect from a university (research papers mostly). Time management is essential.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Walden provides fellowships, grants and scholarship that are always available to students. The also provide tuition reduction if you are employeed at certain places. The enrollment advisor emailed me a list of sites where I could review for other scholarship and grant opportunities. Including this current site for College Prowler.

Academic Flexibility: I selected this school because they are very military friendly and provide a full doctoral program online as I move around quite often. My enrollment advisor has been very helpful and quick to respond to my calls and emails.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: The school is flexible within reason. There are deadlines and you have to budget your time well for studying and work assignments around your work and family schedule. Instructors will work with you regarding deadlines for personal issues, technical problems etc. However, in general you need to turn your work in on time to get the full grade potential marks.

Online Courses: The student counselors really help you through the process. Once you get started its just fine. You have to take plunge to start yet once you do it is fine. The one unit introductory class really helps you to navigate your way around the online campus. There is always someone to help you with any technical issues 24/7. You get out of it what you put into it.

4 College Junior

Career Services: Not used by me personally because I do not need them at this time.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Walden Univ. tech support was very well educated when I needed assistance. Over the past months Walden Univ. network at school was successful and I had no problems that were detrimental or that hurt my grade or GPA.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I choose Walden Univ. because of the flexibility in the classes. I work late hours and do not have time to sit in a classroom and listen to lectures. Therefore, Walden Univ. gives me the flexibility to study and read on my time. However, the one class question is due on a particular day and time, but enough time is given for completion. The next assignment is due on Sunday before 12 midnight Central time and this works good for me and my busy hectic lifestyle.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Walden's curriculum was great; however, I was looking for something more to add and to enhance my degree, but Walden U. did not offer the class.

2 College Junior

Academic Experience: Too much time is delegated to class discussions. If I did not have to write the discussions, I could actually take the time to study the material. I am attending school to learn, not to socialize. Also, some of the course content is weak.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: I love the online schooling format. I would not be able to attend college if online schooling was not an option.

1 College Junior

Student Body: I recently took a class with a group project. The class was the capstone for general education and most of my peers were almost done with their programs. I had to do most of the work for the project. Out of 6 people, only two helped. The rest seemed barely literate and could not even use APA citations. How are students like these graduating? It makes me questionj the legitimacy of my own degree.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I was actually kicked out of the school for failure to progress on my dissertation. I was allowed to appeal due to extenuating circumstances, but this had an adverse impact on my performance at the school.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: Online courses allow me to access my school anytime. There are no local universities with the course selection I needed for my advanced degree, so online school was a no brainer. However, the cost is exorbitant.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Nothing compares with the flexibility of this University. When things go crazy in my life, I don't have to worry that I am missing a class because I have the option to log on at my convenience to do my work and get it in. There are deadlines, but the flexibility of those deadlines, and the fact that I don't have someone breathing over my shoulder telling me to do something, makes this stress free.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I know of these services because I researched many things about this school before starting but have not had to use them yet.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: They have a library with assistance if needed. The writing center and help with citations and grammarly are a great resource. Student services, campus life, tech support. You can call your academic advisor, or email your professor any time and get quick responses. Everything you need is at your fingertips.
