Campus Resources: Technology is a must with an online school and since beginning classes in July 2013 I have not once had any issues with the technology that the school uses.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Getting everything set up in the beginning was a nightmare because my undergraduate school and my graduate school were not communicating at all and neither told me for weeks that they did not have all the documents that each required for transcript release.

Academic Experience: I do not know about any of the other programs offered at my institution but I know that the curriculum and the workload we have to complete is demanding but makes the students hard working, adults in a world where everyone loves to take the shortcuts. When I was choosing where to attend graduate school I compared the curriculums and decided that this curriculum fit best in the way I thought it should be put together.

Academic Experience: If you are not a hardworking student and like to do as little as possible this is not the school for you. The amount of assignments you have each week is scary at first but once you get into the swing of things it becomes much more manageable.

Overall Experience: I chose this institute because it allowed me the freedom to be able to attend school without the confines of having to stay in the same are for an extended period of time to finish my degree. I like the short courses because I can complete the same amount of work as many of my friends but get to change things every eight weeks with a different class and not have to be working on two masters classes at the same time.

Student Body: The amount of assignments each week tells me that if members of my class want to pass the class they have to be dedicated, hardworking, and smart to get the assignments done correctly to receive all points possible.

Online Courses: I am a visual learner so seeing things and being able to go through them at my own pace allows me to work mostly at my own speed throughout the week. I prefer online learning because it allows me to pick the time and place to work on assignments. I have taken 3 classes so far and two of my professors did not interact very well with the students in the manner that I thought was appropriate since it is 100% online. My other professor genuinely cared if you learned or not and was willing to help you understand any materials that were confusing.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have my GI bill.

Overall Experience: Excellent since I have already tried to complete my masters several times with several different colleges but after one or 2 classes was transferred to another base. Had to start all over again. Doing it online affords me the opportunity to complete the degree anywhere in the world at anytime.

Student Body: Online program so we only interact online

Academic Experience: I am a Graduate Student in Mental Health Counseling with a Specialty in Forensic Counseling. Walden is a CACREP accredited program, which is required for me to get my license to practice in Maryland. The program requires: 90 credit hours, 2 Academic Residencies, and 100 Hours of Practicum. The Residencies cost me $3,000 each for plane fare, hotels, and meals as both were held in Atlanta GA.
Finding a practicum site is the responsibility of the student, which is not easy as the supervisor has to be an ACA Licensed Supervisor who will agree to allow filming of sessions, and take one hour a week for a video conference call to Walden with the student and professor.
Walden makes extreme demands of students, oth financial, and physical.

Academic Experience: Professors are Top of the Line. Registration is easy and automatic following the first semester if you are in a degree program. Graduate degree workload is INSANE,

Career Services: I am in Graduate School and the Career Services Center is awesome. They have everything from resume writing services to how to dress for an interview. Each month they have webnars from professionals .

Academic Flexibility: It very much depends on the instructor. I have had some professors who were genuinely interested in the welfare of the students and were wonderful. Conversely, I have had other instructors who did not care that my Mother passed away and would not allow me to turn in an assignment late the day she was buried.
Another issue at Walden is every professor is aware that most students take two Graduate courses each semester and work a job. Some professors do not care and will tell you in the beginning of the semester that if you cannot dedicate 35 hours a week to their course, you should withdrawal then.

Overall Experience: I chose Walden to avoid a long commute into Baltimore City. If I had known I would have to write papers 50 hours a week on-line, I would gladly have made the commute.

Student Body: Walden demands an extreme amount of work and it very expensive to attend. Students who attend are the most dedicated I have ever encountered.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: The course materials are excellent and the instructors and excellent. The work load is twice the amount of a traditional university because tests and exams are not given. Instead students are required to write papers demonstrating their knowledge of the material. Professors are obsessed with APA writing style.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid office has been very helpful. I am taking my final course and wish that there were some options to assist those students who have excelled to the end and need some help.
As a single parent, I have assisted my kids with their college education and ran out of financial aid for myself.
I wish that there were some research grants or fellowships that could assist me and other students who may be in my predicament.

Online Courses: I enjoy online classes and the ability to work at my own pace. The workload gets a little demanding, especially for those of us who are working full time but it is not overwhelming. The registration process is quick and academic advising is helpful in answering questions and ensuring the course of choice is acquired. The professors usually respond in a timely manner. The students are encouraged to be courteous to others and so far they have adhered. As a whole most of the students have been very cooperative to peer-to-peer interaction.

Campus Resources: The library is very convenient and I am able to find most of the material that I need.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: I am able to gain access to my classes with ease and quickly.
When the systems will be down, the students are notified in advance.

4 College Senior

Student Body: My classes are online. I interact with the students through discussions and working in groups.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I would have to travel for at least an hour to attend the school that offers my field of study. I am able to login to the classes with ease and quickly.

5 College Senior

Campus Quality: The Residencies that I have attended were very accommodating and a professional atmosphere were exhibited by the staff and instructors.
