5 College Junior

Online Courses: Online courses differ from the traditional classroom experience becasue it takes a lot more responsibilty to keep up with your online assingments and its a more independent enviornment.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: I think the content of the online courses are of high quality, however some of the instructors haven't fully grasped how to effectively manage that content. A small percentage of the instructors do really well at providing quality and timely updates as well as additional information relevant to the course. However, others haven't really learned how to do this. I think a campus wide initiative to help instructors better use their online platform would be help.

Although some students have no problems taking online courses, there are still a lot of students who find this aspect of Wake Tech to be very frustrating. Most of the time, online courses rely solely on email as a means of communication. Students must have the capability to work independently and remember to check in with the online course forum daily for new assignments or due dates. Most student complaints regarding online courses are about the lack of communication and official lecture time.

On the plus side, online courses are very convenient for the distance learner. Students may find online courses to be a better alternative to class time than having to drive out to a campus.
