3 College Junior

Athletics: No one really stays for the games. Intramural sports are pretty popular.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Wake Forest has great varsity athletics, some of the biggest social events are tailgates

3 College Freshman

Athletics: It's fun to root for Wake, but I personally don't go to a lot of the games. Field Hockey won ACC championship this year though!

4 College Freshman

Athletics: We are pretty good at sports such as basketball, soccer and field hockey while being in a large conference in the ACC. Our football sucks and no one goes to the games only the tailgates before.

As a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Wake Forest is one of the few schools that can truly boast a small student body and elite athletics program. Basketball, football, and soccer games are all very popular, especially when Wake faces arch-rivals Duke and North Carolina. Attending a high-profile game and storming the basketball court is always a memorable experience. Of course, another major highlight is papering the Quad with toilet paper.

Students are heavily involved in club and IM sports. There are a variety of different options to choose from and students are always playing pickup games. The Demon Deacon sports teams have been rebuilding lately, but they are poised to rise to the top of the ACC game with a few solid recruiting classes in basketball and football.

Most Popular Sports
There used to be one answer to this question: Basketball. However, Jim Grobe has resurrected the football team to some degree, so football games are very popular, too. Right now, both teams are rebuilding a bit, but the Demon Deacon faithful know that it is only a matter of time when both teams will be competing for ACC titles.
Most Overlooked Teams
Wake Forest soccer and field hockey are two of the most consistently overlooked teams. The funny thing is, they are our two programs that are consistently ranked as elite in the country.
School Spirit
School spirit is one of the greatest things about Wake Forest-students love their school. Students at Wake Forest are very proud of their school, both in terms of athletics and academics. Wake Forest crowds at basketball and football games are very enthusiastic, despite a smaller student body.
Getting Tickets
Because of Wake Forest's small size, tickets are fairly easy to come by. Most of the time you can simply show up at the game and get in. This is not the case with UNC and Duke games, where students sometimes camp out overnight to get the best seats possible. Of course, students who are members of the Screamin' Demons student section are guaranteed tickets to all football and basketball games. Another benefit to joining the Screamin' Demons is that students get great discounted packages for away games.
Best Place to Take a Walk
Reynolds Gardens and the cross-country trails are great places to exercise or to just take a stroll.
