Off-Campus Dining

{{ error }}
4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of little places on Lancaster.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of nice places to eat in Bryn Mawr and Wayne. Minella's Diner is a very popular diner that is a Villanova staple. Open 24/7

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: It's difficult to get to off campus dining places that are not on the train system if you don't have a car. There are plenty of chains around but there are also a lot of nice restaurants.

5 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: So many food options and they take wildcard so its great.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The food options are far from campus. The common go to is Campus Corner and the food is all fatty and is what you order when you come home after a party or if you are too lazy to get off campus.

One of the best aspects of the Greater Philadelphia area is the range of good food available to almost anyone, from a college student to a family going out to celebrate—Philly has it all. Within the immediate towns surrounding Villanova, you can get Thai, Chinese, American, Italian, and so on, all for an affordable price. A good idea for any student is to sample some of the ethnic cuisine that is just a stone’s throw from the school. Most of the places are pretty cheap and like college kids! While pizza and french fries usually end up being the staple foods for most students, you should also diversify and try some of other foods that Philly has to offer, namely its pretzels and the must-have Philly cheesesteak. While most cities have a “best pizza” restaurant, in Philly it’s all about who has the best cheesesteak, and it’s more than a matter of pride. At least once, every student should head down to South Street and try Jim’s, Pat’s, and Geno’s.

It has been argued by many that the Greater Philly area is comparable to the diverse and well-known restaurant industry of its neighbor, New York City. Not only is it on par with the best dining around, it’s a relief to have some real food after a week or two of the college cafeteria.
