Drug Safety

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: I'm a rising senior and as long as I've been here I haven't witnessed anyone be pressured to do drugs of any kind. It's there if you want it, but I believe there is little to no discrimination against those who choose not to partake. Alcohol is prominent. MJ is available. Harder stuff is apparently very available if you're in a Frat, but I'm a girl so I wouldn't know.

Drug Safety: Vanderbilt is a "wet" campus, so the visibility of alcohol is high, but people seem to be mostly responsible.

Drug Safety: I don't see people using...but I don't know that I would.

Drug Safety: Greek parties are often given special consideration. Campus is very strict about underage drinking of any kind outside fraternity parties. School is not very strict about smoking weed in dorms.

2 College Senior

Drug Safety: Study drugs are abused by many students, alcohol by most. It's difficult to compare to other campuses without having witnessed firsthand, but Vanderbilt seems to have something of a problem with drug safety. However, there are social groups that don't fit that mold, and they are just as visible and easily accessible.

Unless you're a genius, it'd be downright impossible to succeed at a school like Vanderbilt while supporting a drug habit. But then again, if you were a genius, you probably wouldn't be doing drugs in the first place.

There is a small drug scene on campus, so if you really need to find drugs, I'm sure you wouldn't have too much difficulty. The poison of choice on Vanderbilt's campus, however, is alcohol. Like any university, there are problems with binge drinking, but if you're smart enough to get into Vanderbilt, then you're smart enough to make your own decisions.
