Overall Experience: Valencia believes that people should be able to work for a degree without having to pay a ton of money to get to it. Though the commercials may say that, the school does reflect this policy as well. School and individual determination towards a degree is considered important. To get to the desired goals, the career center and employers on campus help out a lot to ensure that Valencia students are not leaving without opportunities.

Academic Flexibility: The overall experience of the academic flexibility at Valencia was good. It was a bit of a hassle at times, that was mostly because classes would fill up quickly. Transferring credits were pretty easy (being that I only had one class to transfer credit to).

Online Courses: I wouldn't say that my experience with online classes have been better than traditional classes, nor have they been worse. I feel indifferent about them because I've come to prefer traditional classroom experiences. Though everything is pretty much the same (in terms of workload, peer-to-peer interaction, and registration process) to traditional classrooms, I think that the availability to contact your professor is a little different (because you could meet with your professor in traditional. But, with online, you would have to contact them via online and then wait for a response (for an uncertain amount of time).

Overall Experience: For the most part, the courses and professors have been a good experience. The courses are relatively challenging but rewarding and the professors are always willing to help you succeed. One experience that I had with my Design I professor was that she was very informative. She taught our class about multiple styles and artists. She always reassured us that if there was a style that we wanted to try out (that may not have been exactly what the assignment called for) then we were free to go for it! Because of her encouragement to go out and try new things, I think that is what helped me to settle on my major.

Academic Experience: I think the Art's program for Valencia is varied. The Art's program at Valencia's East Campus is great (mainly because it is an arts and performing arts school). Though the Valencia I attend isn't as art oriented (West Campus), the professors and classes to give you the skills you need to complete your degree. I think that the art professors that I have studied with have all taught me new things that will help me later down the road.

Overall Experience: My time at Valencia has been a relatively good one! It's a smaller school so it feels a little more intimate with class sizes. Because it is a smaller school, it feels a little more comfortable, as opposed to the hustle and bustle of bigger Colleges and Universities. Though I mainly focused on my studies, it was fun to attend the school hosted events once in a while (like the carnivals, relaxation sessions during finals week, etc). If I could choose my school over again, I would. I think the smaller and quieter environment of Valencia made going to school feel more comfortable (to me).

Overall Experience: So far, so good. I have not yet started class but from what I have experienced, it's been great.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I have not started taking classes towards my actual major yet, but I have seen that Computer Science (my intended major) does a lot on campus.

Academic Flexibility: There are a wide range of choices you have. From evening classes to flex start classes and even some weekend classes; if you have a schedule to work around, you'll definitely be able to make something work if you really want to.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I am not taking any online courses myself, but I have not heard anything bad about them yet.

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: Not sure of the post grad services yet as I have just started out.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The professors I've had experience with so far seemed to really love teaching about their subject. Classes have 25 or less people in them, so it feels like every student there gets attention if they want it and there's not too much going on.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The only bad thing I have to say so far is to make sure you have your finances in order and your classes paid for by the deadline date or they will delete your classes and continue to do so if you don't pay right away.

5 College Freshman

Online Courses: Online courses are pretty clear

5 College Freshman

Career Services: They have a pretty good rate

Overall Experience: Coming to Valencia was one of the best decisions I ever made. I would not have a bright future without a college degree.

5 College Freshman

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: So far so good I can't complain.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It's one of the colleges in the states.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: There are a lot of events going on all the time that makes it students feel more involved as well as welcome.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I was disappointed with the amount of credit I did not receive. This was mainly in the elective department.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: It is very easy to use and the professors follow the syllabus perfectly so there are no surprises.

5 College Senior

Career Services: There is an entire office for transferring with UCF advisors working there.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: Every professor that I have had has been very helpful and cares deeply about the success of each student.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: The services on campus are vast. There is a wide range of centers that are very helpful, though the answer center is a bit slow and sometimes they seem to want you to be in and out so quickly that the issue at hand is hastily and barely resolved. There are great resources for tutoring year round that I really enjoy.

To some, Valencia is an opportunity to grow academically, but to others it’s a place to relax and explore the academic world without any pressure from fellow classmates and professors. Valencia Community College is open to the overachievers and to the slackers. Most students remain at Valencia well beyond the two years required to complete the associate degree.

Valencia Community College is a small academic community that takes great pride in its students. It has well over 100 clubs and extracurricular activities. Many nationalities and ethnic groups are represented on campus. Furthermore, Valencia spares no expense; the school brings in speakers, philanthropists, and experts in various fields year-round to discuss various topics with students.

For those who are concerned about their environment, the school has great security on campus. Police are present, aware, and ready to help. Valencia will help you every step of the way, from enrollment to graduation and beyond. On any given day, you will hear of and see alums walking the many Valencia campuses, talking to current students about life beyond college. Valencia is truly a great place to start.
