5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I really enjoyed orientation. I got to meet different students who are also majoring in Political Science. I was able to meet the Air Force ROTC officer, Colonel Nolan Greene. I was also introduced to the fraternities at Valdosta State University. I was able to meet with my Academic Advisor, and select my classes. I met a few of the professors. I am impressed with their abilities to explain subject material, and what is required. I viewed my dorm room, and am excited about moving in soon.

Health & Safety: The campus is very safe. The school and staff has came up with great ways to inform students of how to be safe and if they are felling unsafe or being approached in an unsafe manner how to go about the situation. For those who feel unsafe walking alone there are buttons located across the campus to press and a security will come and escort them to their dorm. The school organizations comes up with idea that are entertaining and informative relaying important information regarding safety to the students.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is very convenient and is available to all students. The space isn't the most spacious but it allows for students to accumulate to their environment. The location of the dorms is convenient to an extent but walking will be done a lot to a wide-range of areas. The housing process is simple but timely at first. The way they choose housing makes sense and gives us a chance to meet new people.

Greek Life: Greek life is very expanded at this campus. There is a great deal of options and focuses of each sorority and fraternity. Greeks do a lot in the community and around the school. The sisterhood an brotherhood is well worth becoming a part of. Outside of what people think the Greeks stick together like a family and support each other. The males stay in Fraternity houses while the females stay in Brown Hall as of Fall 2016. It is rigorous requirements in order for students to pledge/join certain Greeks.

Athletics: Athletics are very well-organized and looked at. Students and faculty look forward to the upcoming year. Sports seems to be the thing that holds the school up. There is a lot of school spirit.

Campus Housing: Has its imperfections, but residence life is highly recommended to Freshman willing to smoothly assimilate to college life.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Very active and pretty much takes over campus. A lot of them are nice, but also a lot are cliquey.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: VSU puts a lot of effort into Athletics, which produces some of the best teams in the NCAAD2 division.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Best representation of college experience to me. Large enough to enjoy all the unique aspects of college life, and small enough to still feel like you matter, other than just a statistic to this school.

2 College Junior

Health & Safety: Maybe not the worst, but the rate is very high. I believe 1 in 5 women last I checked. Its very common in Remerton and a lot go unreported. Its not safe for young women to go out drinking in Valdosta period.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Its super easy to get in and to stand out if you're a good student.

2 College Junior

Greek Life: Generally they have a bad reputation among non-greeks

Athletics: The rec-center is great in my opinion, the football stadium may not be the best but I think our soccer and baseball fields are very nice.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Its fairly easy to get around campus and town, convenient, comfortable, and affordable. You get what you pay for; not the greatest education but okay for the price.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: They would always help me and get on the right track of learning the material.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: You will have a job when you get out of school

Overall Experience: I have been so pleased with my program and the professors that I have been privileged with. I love the hands-on environment of our classes, and the small sizes of the classes that I have been in.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: I have been able to make great contacts for future employment. VSU also has a job fair for many different degrees and majors, and these are highly beneficial.

4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: I feel very comfortable on campus. Emergency phones are everywhere, and campus security is often seen walking around monitoring campus.

Athletics: Going to Blazer games are fun, especially those late in the evening. Football is my personal favorite, but softball and baseball games are pretty good too. Cheerleaders are fantastic and we also have a dance squad that keeps the games very interesting.
