3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: It's not your mom's cooking, and nowhere probably will be. That being said, they certainly try and don't miss the mark too often. There are options abounding, pizza is a fail-safe, as is the salad bar. If you are tired of Upper, there is always Lower Wismer. The catch here is that a meal credit, while good to swipe you into upper and awards you unlimited time and food, is only good for $6 and change down below. This means that you better really enjoy that burrito because that is all you're getting. The plus of lower is that the hours of operation run later than upper, though usually the wait does too.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: It's okay, but there are not a lot of healthy choices to choose from especially for vegetarians. Variety is okay and value is not good at all. Way too over priced for simple items like a burger and fries.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is pretty awesome. I don't think that the food is bad at all.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: It's probably better than other campus's food, and Simple Servings is always pretty solid.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food system is set up rather poorly. There also aren't late night options on campus. There are currently actions being taken on campus to fix this however.

With only two places to eat on campus, there are not a whole lot of options. The food here gets really old really fast. To be fair, dining services tries to change things up a bit by offering something different each day, but in the end, it becomes one giant rotating schedule. Wismer, the main dining hall, is very much ostracized—it always has been and likely always will be. It is more of a social animal than anything else. Students who go to Wismer usually go with a large pack of friends and spend a long time socializing there. The food may not be the best, but you can eat as much of it as you want and stay for a while.

Zack's, on the other hand, provides fresher food. It's technically a snack bar, but it provides much more than that. The meals served there are great for lunch, but usually do not have large enough portions for dinner. Zack's is a bit more expensive than Wismer, but the quality is definitely better. It gets a bit busy during peak lunch hours (noon to 1 p.m.) and during dinner (around 5 p.m.), but otherwise, it's a place to quickly grab food and take it anywhere.

Did You Know?
  • Domino's offers free delivery to campus addresses. In fact, they are so dedicated to delivering pizza to Ursinus students that all a student needs to provide is the room's phone number extension, and the Domino's delivery man knows exactly where to bring the pizza.
  • It's a long-running joke that only freshmen use trays. If an upperclassmen mentions this to you during summer orientation, they aren't kidding—no one uses trays!
