Party Scene: Parties are good freshman year, but they die off as you get tired of the same scene. You then move on to Trappe Tavern.

Athletics: Sports are pretty big at Ursinus, and we're a typical Division III school. IM sports are awesome.

Athletics: Ursinus is cool in that it has a good number of intramural sports for idiots like me who have no athletic genes in their bodies.

Athletics: Sports are a very big part of the campus, and since it is such a small school, there are a lot of students actively involved in sports. There are intramurals that are popular, too. There is a lot of practice time and devotion that goes into all the sports, but the students love them.

Athletics: Varsity sports are kind of lame, except for the women's rugby team and the men's basketball team. Most students seem to prefer intramural sports anyway.

Athletics: I play three intramural sports, one each in the fall, winter, and spring. It keeps me active and healthy, and it gives me a chance to make some friends or strengthen the bonds I have with my teammates. I wouldn't normally have time for varsity sports, but intramurals are definitely worth participating in.

Athletics: Varsity sports are not too big, but IM sports are huge.

Athletics: Men's basketball is probably the biggest sport on campus. Sports are becoming better attended and supported. Intramurals are pretty big and lots of fun to be involved with. People don't usually come to watch them, but lots of people play.

Niche User

Athletics: I don't have one sports bone in my body, but they are definitely popular here.

Athletics: Sports are a pretty big deal on campus. I would say that a good number of people are involved in them. Football is pretty big, as is basketball, but otherwise, sporting events don't attract the numbers that they might at other schools. As far as intramural sports, I know that rugby is a big deal here.

Athletics: Athletics do not get very high priority on this campus. I guess that's because we're a Division III school, and a small one at that, but I'd still like to see a bit more campus involvement in regards to showing up at games and cheering for our teams.

Athletics: Some varsity sports, such as basketball, are big, but IM sports are huge-many people play.

Athletics: Ursinus is a very involved campus, and there are loads of student athletes here. Students are always offering amazing support by watching important games, matches, and meets.

Guys & Girls: For some reason, a lot of the guys here are short.

Guys & Girls: Students at Ursinus are generally pretty good-looking people who are out to work hard and have a good time. For the most part, students do well in school and try hard to get good grades, but they also like to have fun. Some people are heavy drinkers, and for them, the drinking scene is great. But I don't drink, and I have found plenty of friends to just hang out with, and we have just as much fun.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The boys are pigs, and the girls are drunken idiots. Welcome to college.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: I love the guys on campus. A lot of them are smart, athletic, and pretty hot.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls on this campus are usually pretty friendly. A lot of them are smart, too, and this makes them even more attractive. There's always going to be a fair share of beautiful girls, handsome guys, ugly people, and everyone else in between. But the people on this campus are outgoing and intelligent, and as a result, pretty damn attractive.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The campus is so small that it makes it a bit more difficult for there to be one-night stands. Word spreads around fast, and unless you had your one-nighter completely in the dark, you'll definitely see who you spent that night with before the week is over. It can be a little embarrassing sometimes.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: I think most people on campus are friendly. There is a mix of people, just like anywhere else. And of course there are hot guys are girls.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: I don't understand why so many incoming freshmen insist on maintaining a relationship with their high school partner! Sometimes it's very tough to find a good person to date here.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of good-looking people on campus, and the best part is that most of them are usually smart and friendly, which is a bonus. It's a small campus, so it can be a bit intimidating because on any given day, there is always the chance that you'll meet someone who has previously rejected you.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The students are all really nice and outgoing at Ursinus. There are girls and guys who are attractive, geeky, athletic, whatever. There are all different types of people and groups here, but the typical student is usually a nice, outgoing person who is anxious to meet new people. I love the students at Ursinus because everyone gets along.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: I don't think the girls are that attractive. Some are absolutely stunning, but they're either taken or have such hideous character flaws that I don't want to bother with them. The rest of the girls are rather plain and comely.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: It's rather difficult to say what the guys and girls are like since everyone has their own taste. I will say that almost everybody on campus is friendly, so it isn't too hard to meet people you could eventually develop a friendship or relationship with.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Students love this school, despite its drawbacks. It is not big or in a nice cultural area; the town offers little to do; and the food on campus definitely could use improvement. But Ursinus' strength lies in its excellent academic program, and the students and professors are a tight-knit group. There are no graduate students that teach classes here. Instead, almost all courses are taught by someone with a doctorate or the highest degree in their field. The professors have a passion for what they teach, and this bleeds into the passion students get when they learn new material. Of course, this doesn't mean that the professors are perfect. Some hold themselves in very high regard because of their degrees, others forget that students aren't quite at their level, and several assign insane amounts of work with brutal deadlines. But that's college—students are forced to manage their time and push themselves academically to new levels, and professors do their best to ensure that students successfully make the leap from high school to college.

The town of Collegeville is picturesque in parts, but it doesn't have much for college students to do. Ursinus is a secure campus with not-so-wonderful campus food, but there are lots of off-campus options. Philadelphia is close but still far enough away for Ursinus to be removed from a large-city setting. In general, this is a small school in a small town. Most students will graduate having met almost everyone who goes here, while also receiving an excellent education. Ursinus is becoming increasingly recognized in the world of colleges. Harvard, for example, has cited Ursinus as an inspiration for its own programs in academics and study abroad. The College has a lot of wonderful aspects, and it has a lot of potential to become one of the finest schools on the East Coast—that is, if students can still tolerate the food by then.
