Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus, but there are many off campus options available. All are reasonable prices.

Off-Campus Dining: State Street has the best off-campus dining options. There are many options to choose from with delicious food.

Administration: People can drink all the time here even if they are underage. It is absurd.

Scholarships: A tip I would have for financial aid is apply early because it can be very time consuming.

Party Scene: I am not the biggest party person, but if you are looking for parties you can always find them

Campus Food: There are not many vegetarian options or healthy options in general for a reasonable price. To get the good food, you have to pay more.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is what is to be expected. It is an exciting time in your life, and you get to experience new things. Campus living does its best to help people and make them feel welcome. It is not like living in your own home, but it is becoming a second home to me.

Majors: Going good so far. I recommend going in undecided and choosing once you've completed a year.

Majors: A lot of options! If you can't find your specific major, call the undergrad office and talk to them about your situation. They'll hopefully give you options that are relatively close to that major or classes that will fufill your needs

Local Area: Madison is what made me choose this school. Yes, the academics are also a bonus but Madison is such a gorgeous place to go to school. In between two beautiful lakes, and a really nice downtown area, you get the best of both city and the peaceful life.

Off-Campus Dining: Can't really give an accurate rating because I haven't really been to many off-campus restaurants.

Administration: You could get away with a lot of things if you really wanted to. Also, the police are so nice!

Scholarships: Because of my very low income, I was accepted to a program that lowered my out of state costs.

Health & Safety: I feel extremely safe on campus. I'm extremely petite, standing under 5 feet tall, and I feel comfortable walking alone at night to my dorm. Of course, I make sure to keep aware of my sorroundings but I don't walk in fear.

Off-Campus Housing: I live in a dorm this year but I'm living in an on-campus apartment next year. I don't know much about off-campus housing but there are so many options and if you look early, you'll get a great deal.

Campus Housing: I was fortunate enough to get my top pick which was Elizabeth Waters. It's a nice choice because the rooms are so much bigger than a lot of the dorms on campus. We have enough room to have a small living section with a futon, table, and TV. It's super nice. Plus the location is prime. It's on the top of the hill and you get a lake view if you get the right room. It's also close to academic buildings. One of my classes is right next door which makes it super convenient in the mornings. The social atmosphere in Liz Waters, specifically is alright. They have events where you can meet people but it's up to you to keep those connections which I think can be spoken for any dorm. One bonus to this dorm is that it has it's own dining hall. Small? Yes, but it's better than nothing. Grabbing coffee or lunch without leaving the dorm, especially when there's a blizzard outside, is the best!

Academics: Academics at the school are awesome. Only thing that stopped me from rating it as the best are the TA's. Some aren't as useful as they should be, especially in the math departments. However, if you use the several resources the campus offers, you should be able to make up whatever the TA lacks. Yes, that is a hassle but it is what needs to be done to succeed and frankly, that's the smart choice to do if you are paying money to get an education.

Students put a lot of time and energy into their undergraduate education. Luckily for those at UW, many feel it has been a positive experience. The college atmosphere, expansive campus, and intense academics are only some of the reasons students enjoy UW so much. Students feel they are able to form relationships with other students, as well as their professors. Furthermore, UW leaves them prepared for their future.

An individual’s undergraduate experience is one of the most exciting times in their lives. It is often the first time they are away from parents and making serious decisions about their future. Therefore, it is essential to pick the best university to spend these busy years at. UW offers amazing academics, an inviting atmosphere, and energetic student body. Its location geographically makes it comfortable as well as gorgeous. The facilities are very accommodating, as is the transportation system. Though like any school, there are things that can be improved upon or changed. Parking remains a prevalent issue, for instance. Fortunately, though, issues such as diversity and improvements to the quality of the dorm food are being addressed. Students generally leave the school feeling satisfied and prepared for what’s to come. Wherever you decide to spend your undergraduate years, definitely consider the University of Wisconsin as a practical, exciting, and fulfilling option.
