Overall Experience: I think this school has an awesome alumni base and therefore, great networking opportunities. I hope to use my degree to get a job right out of college.

Campus Housing: Dorms are pretty much your average college dorms. House fellows do a great job of creating a positive, healthy atmosphere for students.

Greek Life: I am not part of a sorority or frat but I have heard that they do a pretty good job of being active members of the community and participating in community service events.

Athletics: There is a ton of school spirit here at UW. There are hundreds of clubs and I have been able to find various clubs that interest me! Athletics are also a big deal! Football and basketball games almost always sell out! Such a great atmosphere that really brings people together here!

Overall Experience: I think UW-Madison is special because it offers such a large variety of majors/minors. The amount of school spirit and Badger-pride can't be found anywhere else! However, I would like to see the school diversify itself much more than where it is at now. Looking back, and as a transfer student to UW, I wouldn't choose any other school! Professors and students are very passionate and engaged in what they teach.

Overall Experience: Course registration can be a pain, but there are many knowledgable professors and interesting classes.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I am not worried about getting a job as a teacher as I will be coming from the nation's top public school of education.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I liked in Liz Waters my freshman year and thought it was great.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I have no experience with greek life on campus, so I am have little opinion.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Badger games are the most important things on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have never questioned my choice to attend UW-Madison. The only thing I would change is the fact that the Education program I am in runs 4.5 years instead of 4.

Health & Safety: I generally feel safe. I know different areas to avoid at different times, but I shouldn't feel like I need to avoid these places ever. I think increasing security of sorts in areas could help a lot. I also think that the administration doesn't care as much as they'd like us to think. I recently read a statistic that there have been some 200 reports of sexual assault this year, and that only 17 were investigated, and only 1 ended in a punishment (such as jail time/ expulsion). I think that's ridiculous and makes me feel, especially as a woman, that I can't ever go to someone with a situation like this without fearing the legitimacy of my actual safety and that someone would take me seriously. I feel like I would be "crying wolf" to those that are supposed to be caring for me.

Overall Experience: I honestly have not had anything substantially negative with my experience here at UW. There may have been a few hiccups here and there but nothing that could effect my overall experience that much. Generally I love the university and am so glad to be a Badger.

Campus Housing: I lucked out with one of the nicest buildings on campus, but with the cheapest rooms since it is a triple. Therefore I've had a generally great experience with housing. The only thing that is rough is that I believe my residence hall was much stricter with rules such as quiet hours than other halls around campus. I think that's unfair and gives us a bad reputation.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I've never been interested in Greek life. Personally I've never had a good connotation with it, and it's extremely exclusive. I think that they do truly do things that are good for the community, but I think they get more praise than they deserve. Contrary to that, I believe that there are definitely Greek groups that are so good for our community.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: We have some of the most popular sporting teams in the country and I love that about our school. The athletes usually act as equals (depending on). I do feel like they receive so much more praise for the school than regular students, though. Like immensely

Overall Experience: I think UW is great for so many reasons. I went to one of the smallest schools in the state of Wisconsin so I was apprehensive to come to the largest public university in the state after that exclusive education I had previously gotten, but I wasn't disappointed. I always feel welcomed and at home and I know that I am always accounted for.

Overall Experience: Always a good experience and what I expect; challenging and worth my effort.

Overall Experience: UW-Madison is considered the elite degree for obtaining your Master's in Social Work in Wisconsin. Therefore, while I do not anticipate an immediate job change I do believe the advance degree from this school will serve me well in the future by opening doors on my future.

Health & Safety: I know the campus works hard to protect students with emergency call stations as well as being able to contact someone for a safe walk home. Again as a parent of a young female student I appreciate the efforts of the University to try to protect her. However, I am aware that youth continue to be victims. I know there are resources available to my daughter in a variety of forms such as self-defense classes, the safe walk home, information sessions, and community groups centered around making the Campus safer. Bottom line, she needs to be protective of herself as well as trying to make the Campus a safer place to be.

Campus Housing: I rate this not as a student, but as a parent who has had two students in housing. The kids have had a great social experience, but the cost is outrageous, especially as it compares to off campus housing and other state campuses. There is nothing special or unique about the standard dorms and therefore, it is upsetting that the cost would be so much higher as compared to other state Universities.

Students put a lot of time and energy into their undergraduate education. Luckily for those at UW, many feel it has been a positive experience. The college atmosphere, expansive campus, and intense academics are only some of the reasons students enjoy UW so much. Students feel they are able to form relationships with other students, as well as their professors. Furthermore, UW leaves them prepared for their future.

An individual’s undergraduate experience is one of the most exciting times in their lives. It is often the first time they are away from parents and making serious decisions about their future. Therefore, it is essential to pick the best university to spend these busy years at. UW offers amazing academics, an inviting atmosphere, and energetic student body. Its location geographically makes it comfortable as well as gorgeous. The facilities are very accommodating, as is the transportation system. Though like any school, there are things that can be improved upon or changed. Parking remains a prevalent issue, for instance. Fortunately, though, issues such as diversity and improvements to the quality of the dorm food are being addressed. Students generally leave the school feeling satisfied and prepared for what’s to come. Wherever you decide to spend your undergraduate years, definitely consider the University of Wisconsin as a practical, exciting, and fulfilling option.
