2 College Junior

Party Scene: As previously mentioned, students who engage in nightlife behaviors often disturb me when I'm trying to study.

2 College Junior

Party Scene: If you know where to find it (and one of my roommates did), it can get out of hand very quickly.

3 College Junior

Academics: The program is great, but a lot of information is withheld and students have to go find it. Very few extracurricular opportunities were communicated to me. I understand the faculty wanting us to be self-sufficient, but a little bit of communication would be very much appreciated.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Diversity is emphasized, but even among organizations like Rainbow Alliance and at Equity & Diversity events, there's still cliques, social hierarchies, etc. The unspoken message seems to be that only certain kinds of diversity are accepted.

Drug Safety: I've had to stay overnight in friends' houses in order to avoid inebriated students wandering through the dorms at night. Also, I've been woken up by drunken residents banging on my window in the middle of the night a few times.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: We have the University Police paroling the area at nights. Also, we have emergency poles with lights in which you feel unsafe you can press a button and the police will be there in matter of seconds.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It is an average experience with each course. For example, my calculus instructor was a very well spoken and instructive teacher. He worked with us to see to it that we all understood the material before we moved on to the next subject. However, a contrasting example would of been with my history instructor who had no compassion towards us and seemed like he did not care to even be in the classroom.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The value of degree from this school is based on your degree. For example, a nursing degree from this school is held in very high regards. However an engineering student like me does not have their degree held at such high regards. However, they do have a partnership with the University of Minnesota in which I will be earning both my physics degree from Oshkosh and my Engineering degree from the other school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus gives you a chance to make friends that you would not otherwise. In addition, you are closer to school than you would be living off campus.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Personally, I haven't given much thought about joining Greek Life, however from what I have seen is that Greek Life provides it members with a sense of family like community that many other clubs cannot offer.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: What makes my school unique is that University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, feels like a home community. Everyone around is there to help you improve your college life and education.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are lots of different clubs and activities to get involved in at UW Oshkosh.

Greek Life: I am part of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at UW Oshkosh and I am glad that I decided to go through recruitment. I was afraid people would look at me differently, but most everyone on campus is accepting of Greek life and they don't treat Greeks differently than non-Greeks. Each sorority and fraternity has their own house. The Zeta house can only house 8 people though.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I have never attended an athletic game but I've heard that the teams are fairly good. Our gym/recreation center is new and I like it a lot.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I feel that the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is an average undergraduate college. There are better and worse state colleges in Wisconsin. I chose Oshkosh over Loyola University-Chicago because of cost. Oshkosh gives me a cheaper undergraduate base before I go on to medical school. I do love how much I am involved on campus and the great people I've met.

3 College Junior

Athletics: I wish there were more intramaural sports opportunities.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I think UWO is a great school. The teachers are all very friendly and helpful.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There is a lot being done about it but there could be more.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: For the most part I feel safe on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The more I went to my classes and got to know my professors the more excited I became about my major.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have not looked in to it a whole lot yet.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I had a great dorm experience but it was more because of the people I met not the facilities.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Im not involved in greek life so I do not know much about it.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The programs do not have enough funding.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Overall it has been challenging but definitely worth it!
