Overall Experience: University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has a wonderful staff of caring professors, but the Services for Students with Disabilities has made my college experience a living nightmare. I often don't have textbooks, required help, proctors for exams, or even wheelchair accessible desks. I love the size of the campus and how united the school tries to be. The Honors Program is the only part of this school that has made my experience worthwhile. If my health improves, I plan on transferring as soon as possible.

Overall Experience: I love my school! It's the best choice I made. The nursing program is amazing and the instructors are all great mentors. There are so many extracurricular opportunities as well as cultural experiences that students can take part in. The school has a camaraderie that can't be beat.

Overall Experience: The campus is gorgeous, and just small enough to feel at home and not be running madly from class to class, but large enough to not feel crowded. The vast majority of the professors are excellent, and the tuition is a really good value. The culture is very friendly and warm, and I find the classes engaging and interesting.

Overall Experience: The campus is absolutely beautiful. The staff at the school are so willing to help you figure out what you need and how you can succeed.

Overall Experience: So far my experience has been the best! From being able to go to my advisors to my older classmates everyone is willing to help anyone. I don't feel judged and always feel like people are ready for anything and want the best for you! My college has already gave me a huge step in the door for my major and that is amazing and making me even more exited to become to a special education teacher. Couldn't be happier!

Overall Experience: UWEC was a great experience. Students were friendly and professors were willing to help if you reach out. Getting involved in organizations was extremely helpful in creating a core group of friends right off the bat.

Administration: I've had the RA's come to the door at least 5 times, written up 3 times in a year. They're pretty strict. You'll have to meet with the Hall Director every time you're written up

Campus Food: Basically the same stuff over and over, but it's not bad. There are a decent amount of options in the caf. Davies food is really good.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Got a some financial aid, not that much though. Advisers are really nice and try their best.

Campus Housing: Good community, most of the dorms are Upper Campus, separate from classes. Rooms were a little bigger than I expected.

4 College Junior

Administration: I have not had any problems with any rule violations so I do not really have a clear perspective on how situations are handled. Yet, I do know that the University does not tolerate law violations. I do know you probably have a greater chance of being struck by lightning or attacked by a shark than parking for a class period without a parking pass and not getting a ticket. The RA's (resident assistants) do a pretty good job of being sure that people are not noisy during quiet hours so you can sleep and they aren't jerks about it either. For the most part everyone is pretty mature so I haven't really had any issues with noise or smelling smoke in my dorm

Campus Food: At the hilltop center, it is an all you can eat style eating. The food is not the greatest but it is not the worst. Some meals better than others. In the Davies Student Center, it is similar to a food court in a mall. The food is better there than at hilltop but it requires a different food plan and can be pricier.

Campus Housing: Living on campus was a great decision. I always feel like I am able to go and do just about anything I feel like at the time since there are many others right there on campus. Not only that but plenty of things go on anyway even during the weekends, which is nice since I live far from home and do not want to go back every weekend. The people are also really nice here and will let you join them in whatever they are doing regardless if they know you or not! The dorms could use a little renovation in some areas but for the most part I feel they get the job done. As far as cost is concerned, I really have no rightful opinion since I haven't lived off campus at all but I have heard that the cost comes to about the same (though this depends on where you decide to live off campus and how much food you eat). I personally don't think the cost is all that much. The housing process I do not remember being the most user friendly thing in the world but it certainly was not entirely confusing either. Some things seemed to make more sense than others and it could have been easy to get misguided

Campus Food: I don't like how you're forced to buy a meal plan and the way it's set up is kind of confusing. Like if you get this meal plan, you can get this but not this. It's just weird.

4 College Student

Campus Housing: I know I haven't started college yet, but I have visited multiple times to stay with friends that are current students. When I visited, everyone was welcoming and seemed always happy. The atmosphere seems great and I couldn't be more excited to be a Blugold.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing can be hit or miss. Some places are really nice, while others are complete garbage pits. The landlords can be great and super helpful, or they can be complete assholes that violate the lease contract whenever they want.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are some really good places to eat, like Milwaukee Burger and the Acoustic Cafe. There also is the standard Applebees, B-dubs, and other places like that.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Overall campus is pretty chill. The only time that they get ridiculously strict is during finals week. We have "dead hours" during then and it feels like if you cough you will get written up.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: There is some financial aid available, but there is a high chance that you won't get any. My family is barely scraping by with the amount that we have to pay.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: It's edible. There are occasionally meals that are highly questionable, but you can easily skip them. The burger place is always open, so there is a nice go-to to constantly have. Einstein's is the best.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus can great, depending on which dorm you are in. Some have bigger rooms and others have bigger bathrooms. Any of the Towers buildings are good choices. Putnam and KT are seperated from the rest of the halls, and that is not very desirable. There will be people on the floor that you love, and people that you absolutely cannot stand.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Good variety of restaurants. Many close by. If live on upper campus can easily walk to some of the restaurants across Clairemont.

3 College Senior

Administration: I think the campus is a great environment. For the most part I think things are fairly lenient. There are times where it frustrates me that so many underage students get away with partying though.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: I personally had a couple issues throughout my time at Eau Claire. Some years went more smoothly than others. Sometimes I had to go to talk to someone in the Financial Aid Office to discuss somethings or ask them to make some changes.

4 College Senior

Campus Food: Overall, I did not mind the food on campus. There were times where certain entrees did not appeal to me or there were limited options (particularly on weekends), but I never had absolutely nothing to eat. I've heard people complain about the limited options at times, but I am grateful to have the opportunity to eat what I am offered. I think the best places are on lower campus in Davies. They are more like restaurant-style food locations. You can purchase a meal plan that includes all-access to Hilltop (upper campus) and one meal per day in Davies (lower campus).

The University of Eau Claire is absolutely amazing. Most of the professors here are very friendly and willing to assist you in your learning endeavors. Since the campus has such a small student population, you feel as if you get to know everybody around you. You make relationships with your professors, and they know you by your name. Also, do not be afraid to ask your professors questions. It makes the learning process that much easier.

Eau Claire is different from many colleges because it feels like a small town inside of a big city. This University is unique because people here care for one another. If you ever have a problem, all you need to do is ask someone around you, and they will more than likely be willing to help out. The campus is very welcoming and involved with the surrounding community. You will never feel left out if you join a couple of organizations and make friends your freshman year.

The University is beautiful, especially during the fall, so don’t forget that you can study outside on the campus mall. Students here just don’t focus on academics; they focus on having fun as well. During the school day, you will see students studying and playing Frisbee on the campus lawn. We are a very friendly campus here, and we enjoy meeting new people.
