3 College Junior

Party Scene: I do intend to pursue many activities in this area.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: I have never nor intend to pursue many activities in this area.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: I am underage so I can't speak much about off campus night life.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Frat parties are great for women but there are limited options for men.

4 College Senior

Party Scene: Frat parties are a lot of fun, but unfortunately the neighbors have been making complaints so the parties have had to be toned down a lot the past two semesters, but you can still find something to do. Salt Lake City is definitely a college town so there are a ton of bars that range from fancy to I don't get paid until Wednesday but I can still afford to get some drinks.

Despite Utah having a reputation as still living in the Prohibition Era, there are many places for locals to get an alcoholic beverage. The laws have just recently changed to allow anyone 21-and-up to enter a bar without having to pay a membership fee. Most bars tend to be full service, and the beverages are usually fairly priced. Overall, there are a few good nightclubs in Salt Lake City, but don't expect to be blown away by anything amazing. The club scene is growing in Salt Lake, but slowly. Most people you meet there are older and just want a place to get a drink.  However, there are clubs that cater to all sorts of dancing styles. There is even a "dry" club to appeal to the underage/Mormon scene.

Most of the students, or those that are underage, like to go to someone's house and chill or party there as opposed to going to a club. Needless to say, there is never a shortage of house parties to attend, which serve as a great way to get to know people and have a good time. The U of U also does a good job of promoting different activities and events that go on around campus. There are usually a lot of events that revolve around football, basketball, and winter sports. You just need to keep an eye out.

Organization Parties
Organizational parties are not terribly big at the U. There's the annual pre-graduation house party, but it's kind of hard to realistically invite 28,000 people to a party, so mainly only the people who organize it and their friends go. The Union has started a program called Crimson Nights, held periodically throughout the semester. This late-night program features a variety of entertainment including comedy shows, bowling, crafts, movies, live music, and much more. And it's free!
