5 College Junior

Majors: I have top Professors. I want to start my career at USAA then move into Freelancing.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: The school offers university scholarships that are automatic based on your GPA. The administration will do everything they can to help you get the aid you need. The only thing that is frustrating is having to wait so long to receive your aid. Especially when you have supplies to buy.

Overall Experience: UIW is a grate school for graphic design. The professors push you to do your best. As a class we really push each other to our best. Our organization Command Create made by the students is very involved in the local art community as well as working with AIGA to put design events together for the design students of UIW. The school and the atmospher is grate! Truly a hidden gem.

Off-Campus Housing: The places are nice if they are well taken care of. The ones that are well taken care of are to expensive for college students to afford. There are a lot of expensive condos and town houses in the area.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There are no heavy drug issues

3 College Freshman

Weather: Usually sunny, and often have unexpected rainfall

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: off campus housing is a lot cheaper than dorming

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are many good places to choose from, many of which are right across the street.

3 College Freshman

Technology: Computers work well, can easily find one to work one.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Good academic challenge so far. I have been spurred to keep an agenda for all the assignments I must finish.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Professors are helpful, it being a small school, you really feel the teacher to student connection.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I dont really know. I dont drink, therefore I dont really go out at night.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Being a soccer player, I would say the athleticf acilities are good. Campus life does put up flyers for soccer games, but doesnt really encourage other students to go to the soccer games, or even they dont go.

3 College Freshman

Technology: Tech support will not help you if you didnt buy your laptop from school. There are five cent printing fees for each paper you print. But availibility of computers is good.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Haven't has an internship. Im a freshman, and I am currently looking for one, but i havent had anchance to really look intot he programs.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am content with my math program. I probably wouldd o it again.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Its usually hot at all times of the year, except for winter. Even in the winter, it doesnt get really cold.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Theres one shuttle in the campus. I dont find the need to use it.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life seems like any other club or association in the school

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Its been good. The fact that im playing soccer here at UIW, really takes the majority if the reason for why I attend this school.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I know basically anyone can walk onto campus with unknown intentions. The campus police should rprobably step up their game.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Ive never been a picky eater, so I may not be the best to ask this question to, because i love all fooood.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Its a great environment, very green. Im not used to it but I love it. My only complain is the humidity, and how expensive it is.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I enjoy it. As a freshman, all the classes are close to me. Next year, we will be placed in upper classmen dorms, which are very far away from the classes.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Its not a very atrictd campus. There are a lot of regulations which are preached at orientation, but not practiced during the year.

The University of the Incarnate Word has so much to offer. From the academics and excellent professors to the life-long friendships, you will not look back and regret coming to UIW. Most of the students really enjoy their experience at UIW. The friendships formed here usually last through college and beyond. There are also more genuine friendships since UIW is a small school, and keeping in contact with fellow classmates is very easy because you see the same people almost daily. UIW is a very diverse school, so it is like a "small world." The memories formed at UIW are endless.

The education is top-of-the-line, as it thoroughly prepares each student to excel in his or her desired field of study. The smaller atmosphere allows for more personal attention for each student. The relationships between students and teachers is very strong, and professors know students by their names because of the low student-to-teacher ratio. Sure, you will hear complaints here and there, whether it be about residence life or the cafeteria food, but keep in mind that everyone has different tastes, and nothing is perfect. Overall, students are very satisfied with their education at UIW and all that it brings them not only while they are in school but after they graduate as well. Professors and advisers make sure that their students are more than prepared for their careers and for whatever life may bring in the future.
