5 College Freshman

Academics: The professors are always in reach for students with questions or concerns.

4 College Freshman

Weather: Of course we get rain but usually its always sunny

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: campus activities are really easy to find. The school pays attention in the students communicating and having fun.

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: campus life always offers ways not only to be involve inside the campus but to help our community.

5 College Freshman

Technology: Printing is really easy and affordable inside the campus

5 College Freshman

Administration: They are strict but it makes the campus be safe for many of us.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There's no peer pressure in the campus, everyone is respected.

5 College Freshman

Parking: The school is amazing!! The school is like a second home to many of us.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: To be honest I hardly hear anyone talking about drugs let alone promoting them. Maybe its who I hang out with but i doubt it. There was a lot of smoking but the campus set guidelines and they are for the most part being followed.

Administration: Our school does care about the students and is very good at keeping track of attendance, if you are late or miss a class the professors talk to you to make sure that everything is ok and to clarify that the student knows that after the second offense half a letter point will be deducted from the grade unless the student has a proven excuse. Like mentioned earlier we aren't a loud campus and noise isn't a problem. I don't think i've seen anyone drink alcohol on campus.

Parking: In order to find parking you have to be present at school before 7 am if not be prepared to make your rounds around the campus. It seems we have twice the amount of students compared to the parking spaces event the professors complain. The parking permit cost $200 and maybe its just me but I believe that is ridiculous especially it is a gamble to find a parking space...have i mentioned there is tons of construction going on?

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus but I do have friends that do and even though it is pretty expensive to live on campus everything seems to be great. The buildings are old but that is because our school is old yet there is a lot of construction going on.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: To be honest I hardly hear of parties going on. It might just be me but i think our campus is a pretty quite one compared to other universities and colleges.

Campus Food: There are three places you can get a bite, one is the main cafeteria where you go in and pay $8 for an all you can eat. As a student I love the sound of all you can eat yet i am a vegetarian and there aren't very many options in the cafeteria or in the cafe or the store in the Admin building. In the other two places sandwiches are nearly $6 and salads are $6-7 and they are small portions.

3 College Freshman

Technology: We do have MAC desktops and PC desktops but there isn't enough of them when everyone is trying to study for tests. The computers are in good condition and actually the MACs have been upgraded. The printing at the university is very expensive maybe three times the price of kinkos, not only that but the the color quality isn't the best.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Before the semester started I went ahead and talked to my financial aid advisors and they were able to help me by helping me come up with a pay plan and directing me to possible grants and scholarships. When and if I had a hard time understanding a process or anything of the mater they took the time to explain. I still had to take out loans but they arent too bad.

3 College Freshman

Parking: not enough space close to main campus

4 College Freshman

Weather: doesn't rain a lot, warm, sunny

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: nice architecture, housing is gross sometimes

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: parties are lame sometimes, but sometimes good

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Hear about it a lot, but not a real problem

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Easy classes, good volunteer opportunities

3 College Junior

Majors: I have not held an internship yet. Most of the design internships what you to work for free have your own computer and you do even work directly under a person of knowledge. Our program does a really good job of fixing this problem by screen all our internships. Then even refuse some because they are either looking for free work or the intern does not get to work on quality portfolio pieces.

5 College Junior

Majors: I have top Professors. I want to start my career at USAA then move into Freelancing.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: The school offers university scholarships that are automatic based on your GPA. The administration will do everything they can to help you get the aid you need. The only thing that is frustrating is having to wait so long to receive your aid. Especially when you have supplies to buy.

The University of the Incarnate Word has so much to offer. From the academics and excellent professors to the life-long friendships, you will not look back and regret coming to UIW. Most of the students really enjoy their experience at UIW. The friendships formed here usually last through college and beyond. There are also more genuine friendships since UIW is a small school, and keeping in contact with fellow classmates is very easy because you see the same people almost daily. UIW is a very diverse school, so it is like a "small world." The memories formed at UIW are endless.

The education is top-of-the-line, as it thoroughly prepares each student to excel in his or her desired field of study. The smaller atmosphere allows for more personal attention for each student. The relationships between students and teachers is very strong, and professors know students by their names because of the low student-to-teacher ratio. Sure, you will hear complaints here and there, whether it be about residence life or the cafeteria food, but keep in mind that everyone has different tastes, and nothing is perfect. Overall, students are very satisfied with their education at UIW and all that it brings them not only while they are in school but after they graduate as well. Professors and advisers make sure that their students are more than prepared for their careers and for whatever life may bring in the future.
