Drug Safety: I do not live on campus.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: Construction everywhere makes it difficult to enjoy

1 College Freshman

Party Scene: Lights are out early on campus unsafe to walk alone

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: If it wasn't crowded it would be perfect.

5 College Freshman

Weather: Love the San Antonio heat!

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: They're helpful if you nag them.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: It's not too common here but it does happen.

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Clock towers and chapels are lovely to be around.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Great school too much construction in the area

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Good is good but would prefer a student discount.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather does not affect my campus experience.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: When I am on campus I honestly do not pay close attention to others. I guess since I do not live on campus I do not really know what goes on after hours.

Campus Quality: I do not live on campus. I believe it would have been a wonderful experience, I just was not able to afford it at the time. Anyway, I do visit the library and media center a lot. I also love how they private study rooms where one can go and work on homework or study for midterms or finals.

Campus Quality: Honestly what made me choose UIW, was that they offered me the most financial aid. But not only that, it had all the things I was looking for in a school. I know that private universities sometimes double in tuition than public ones but, I really loved that the classes were so small. I did not want to be in a classroom where my professor does not know my face or name.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I honestly do not really see the campus police around. Then again I do not live on campus. So when I am on school grounds I just get things done for my classes. Of course meaning going to class.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: It is a big city, yet everywhere you go you see familiar faces. In a way we all know each other in this town. It is a tourist town, very interesting. Especially when you go to the downtown area. It is just amazing.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There's a decent amount of options you just have to look for them. However you should double check to make sure that the off campus housing isn't more expensive than on campus housing. There are great deals for students though for certain places.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: The night life works best if you're at least 18 because there aren't many places to go to if you're 17, at night anyway. There's tons of bars and clubs downtown it's really just about what you're looking for.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Downtown is about ten minutes away so there are plenty of activities to do it's just a matter of transportation. There are a lot of places to go and most museums offer student discounts.

2 College Freshman

Parking: I don't park on campus but from what I hear it can get pretty crazy. It is difficult to find a spot so you should get to school early just to find a parking spot.

3 College Freshman

Weather: It is a well known fact amongst San Antonians that the weather is bipolar. It can change at the drop of a hat so you really just have to be ready and pay close attention to your weather app. It doesn't really affect school it somewhat changes the drive to and around school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Housing is a little bit expensive but it's really worth it. I hear the parking on campus gets really competitive and sometimes traffic gets really bad on 281. It's just more convenient to live on campus because everything is where you need or or just a short drive away.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I think it's amazing if you find any on campus. You would really have to search to find some if it's even there at all.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: At UIW you meet people from all over the world. It's amazing the things you can learn from other cultures. Since we're so diverse we are all very accepting.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't know much about the Greek life but I do know they do a lot of charity and fundraising events.

The University of the Incarnate Word has so much to offer. From the academics and excellent professors to the life-long friendships, you will not look back and regret coming to UIW. Most of the students really enjoy their experience at UIW. The friendships formed here usually last through college and beyond. There are also more genuine friendships since UIW is a small school, and keeping in contact with fellow classmates is very easy because you see the same people almost daily. UIW is a very diverse school, so it is like a "small world." The memories formed at UIW are endless.

The education is top-of-the-line, as it thoroughly prepares each student to excel in his or her desired field of study. The smaller atmosphere allows for more personal attention for each student. The relationships between students and teachers is very strong, and professors know students by their names because of the low student-to-teacher ratio. Sure, you will hear complaints here and there, whether it be about residence life or the cafeteria food, but keep in mind that everyone has different tastes, and nothing is perfect. Overall, students are very satisfied with their education at UIW and all that it brings them not only while they are in school but after they graduate as well. Professors and advisers make sure that their students are more than prepared for their careers and for whatever life may bring in the future.
