Technology: The technology provided at the school is very up to date. They have everything from the latest's macs to create movies from simple windows to do everyday assignments. We have a main computer lab where you can work on homework or get on social networks and we also have another computer lab located in the third floor where they have mostly macs. In the third floor computer lab they have the technology support group, in order to assist those who are not familiar with the software. Not only do they show you step by step how to work with the software, but they can also help you with your own laptops if you are having any trouble with them. Only problem with the technology is the Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is quite slow and you have to keep logging in, because it logs you our randomly at times.

Technology: The students do have access to various campus technology labs where one can do homework or use for personal things. The labs are distributed all over campus, yet there are times when most get crowded and there are no computers left for other students to use.

4 College Senior

Technology: Printing on campus is fairly inexpensive. There is always wi-fi access which is generally reliable. In all of my years here I've only experienced it fall on two occasions at most. Personal computers are generally not needed since there are computer labs in almost every building, but some students do prefer them as they do make note taking easier.

4 College Student

Technology: I like the printing on campus but I don't like that there is a limited amount of computer labs.

4 College Freshman

Technology: Never have bad signal here

Computers at UTEP are definitely in short supply. Students are always lingering around the lab, like a shark lingers around a sinking ship. It is inconvenient to have to wait for available computers, and most students do not have the time. There are other computer labs set up around campus, yet their small size and small quantity of computers do not make up for the missing end of the stick.

There are some students that carry their laptops, which is the best alternative. Internet connection is not usually a problem. The network configuration set up at UTEP is installed by tech support. The tech support staff is very helpful, and is always busy installing programs in computers or helping fellow students with any troubles. Students may rent laptops from the tech support desk and even have antivirus protection programs installed free of charge.
