4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Although our school is notorious for the partying and drinking scene, as a current student, I very rarely see any incidents of drug and alcohol consumption on campus. Our campus has a good program that warns students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and we have great law enforcement on the campus.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Annoying at times, but if you have a friend in the greek system the parties are pretty rad.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: The campus is full of life, in every possible way. There is always something going on at almost every corner of the campus!

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: We have variety of old aesthetic building, new modern buildings. There are places for sleeping, eating, studying, socializing. The school is so big and full of variety you can find just about everything!

4 College Sophomore

Technology: There's computer labs every where, if you need them you are good!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: If you are the type who likes to live on campus there are a lot of options.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Find them! They're there if you put the effort in to look.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: You get everything. There's alot of kids who are politically aware. There are a few extremists but most everyone is accepting of everyone from frat/sorority kind to the hipster/hippie kind.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There's alot of variety. West campus is not the only option. Actually, be smart don't live in West Campus. It's fun for parties and the nightlife but the dangers, noise, and chaos is not something you want every day.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Wouldn't wanna be anywhere else

5 College Sophomore

Weather: Texas weather. Sunshine almost everyday.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: We are known to be quite the party school. We're big, fratty, and even have spirit groups, so it's tough for campus police to be strict. When it comes to cheating and plagiarizing, UT has a zero tolerance.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: The faculty is very distinguished, among the best in the nation. I go to class and know I am learning something important. The research that is being conducted at our school is inspiring and top notch.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: Top notch faculty and curriculum.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: It's Austin, downtown Austin. You cannot expect parking to be cheap or easy to find.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Never had drugs but I am still happy!

4 College Junior

Technology: Many computers but is better to have our own!

4 College Junior

Diversity: There is a great variety here!

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Many students join the greek life!

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Has its ups and downs!

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: There are a lot of dining halls, but they can be expensive!

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I've heard that people do drugs, but I'm not involved in that scene, so I don't know much about it.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have't made close friends yet... Classes have been fairly easy.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: All students ride free on city buses which are pretty convenient!

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There are these emergency poles all around campus. You can press the button and police will come to that location.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
