Health & Safety: the school is always putting the student health services out there, and everyone pretty much knows where they are located

Transportation: the buses take a long time to get to their designated stops and are very crowded, but otherwise easy to access

Athletics: We have a decent football team and fans come from everywhere.

Technology: For the most part, WiFi is always available. You probably need your own computer to make it here.

4 College Senior

Transportation: The school provides for or pays for most of the transportation in Austin available to students.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: You hear much about Greek life unless you're in it, but they apparently live in castles. :)

Parking: This is the only problem area. Don't even think about parking on campus during the school day.

Drug Safety: Smart drugs can be a problem, but this school is mentally challenging. Drug users don't last long here.

Local Area: It's Austin. It the capital of the south. It has everything you need and it's safe.

Campus Quality: Yet again, the amount of money we receive as a large school might not be a fair comparison.

Weather: If you like Texas weather than you'll love it but you shouldn't be surprised.

Overall Experience: This school has the best communication and business programs in the country. I wouldn't our efforts against anyone else.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't lived off campus in a while. Honestly, the school's own living resources are so encompassing that the only reason to live off-campus would be preference.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It rains a lot in Austin, now that the weather is getting cooler. So far, classes have not been cancelled at all, unless the professor had to cancel for their own reasons. UT is a very big campus, but I choose to walk for my daily exercise and I'm okay with walking to my classes. But when the weather is nice, the campus looks really beautiful and it's a nice walk.

Guys & Girls: Guys here are not bad. I stay away from the frat daddies, but other than that cool dudes can be found. The girls on the other hand are bountiful and beautiful. Can't really top a Texas girl.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
