Campus Food: I enjoy the dining halls very much. The food is good and there is always a variety.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It's okay but a hassle on paper work

5 College Sophomore

Academics: Many possible majors diffident work load.

Off-Campus Housing: As you become an upper class men you tend to want an apartment way better to live and to eat and a new way of getting used to the adult life.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: On of the difficult and important of my major keeping my GPA high

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I am studying to be a nurse and the work load is pretty high but for free it's quit enjoyable because the classes are very interesting since they are related to my major.

5 College Sophomore

Local Area: After graduation people usually stay or get a job that is offered to them but mostly people stay because it's somewhere you would want to live.

Campus Housing: The dorm life is great when your a freshman and you want to meet new people get to class on time. Always something going on.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Our school is known to be very school spirited and everyone always enjoy there time.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: There's always never parking but if there is it's the flashing zone where your allowed to park for only 30 mins.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at our school is very noticeable and any student is able to get access to any of the drugs that they can think of if you know the right places to look. Especially the freshman coming to college.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The only time you'll see drug and alcohol usage will be off campus where the parties are at. But if you are staying on campus in the dorms, you'll find people stumbling in late at night/early mornings from parties. Sometimes they reek, puke, and are obnoxious but there are always people (such as RAs) that keep it under control to make sure nothing gets out of hand.

Overall Experience: There's a reason why everybody wants to go to UT. The campus is extremely diverse in students, teachers, and activities. You are bound to fit at UT if you have had trouble in the past. It may take some time, but in the end, the friends you make will be the friends you'll have for a life time. Academics are challenging but that shouldn't hinder your decision to one of the best schools in the nation!

Parking: Parking on campus is extremely hard. You either have to get here really early or unless you have a parking permit in certain reserved areas. There are various parking passes with different restrictions such as different areas and times you can park. So if you have a pass, you'll be solid; if you don't, then it would be best to look in the West Campus area for parking (pay by the hour 8 AM - 6 PM). If you are parked on campus without a permit, you WILL get ticketed and more than likely, towed.

Technology: Printing unfortunately is only free in a few spots, but its still affordable to print at the library for 15 cents a page. The libraries have lots of computers and are spread out throughout campus for convenience.

5 College Senior

Transportation: The bus system is wonderful, students ride the bus for free and they always come every 5-15 mins.

2 College Senior

Parking: Parking around school is impossible unless you want to pay 600 dollars a year for parking in a garage. Any other spots are pay to park, which isnt too bad since its a dollar an hour...but good luck finding one.

Off-Campus Dining: off campus dining is not very convenient for me because it's generally more expensive than on campus.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
