Overall Experience: Its fun college and theres a lot to take, but it can get pricey

Health & Safety: There was definitely a murder a few weeks ago, but other than that, I pretty much feel fine? I do usually opt to walk with a group if I can, and now, there are police seen walking around more often. So that helps.

Overall Experience: I've had some extremely helpful TAs who are open and patient with me and are willing to talk with me one-on-one. There are cool classes offered, it's just really hard to get into them.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I believe my prospects, in hoping for a degree in Radio-TV-Film, would be much better here as opposed to having gone to another school, if not just for the reputation the school and its film program has.

Greek Life: I'm only familiar with the film frat, which is co-ed and seems more like an organization, but it still seems pretty cool. There doesn't seem to be a lot of pretension about it.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I don't really pay attention to sports, and I don't see a ton of school spirit, but I assume it's great because sometimes I see people excited about it?

Overall Experience: My major is great and very applicable to the industry.

Health & Safety: After recent events, UT has been increasing their security on campus but its a shame they only do that after something bad happens.

Overall Experience: I've loved most of my classes but the one that stood out to me the most is Intro to Black Studies. My professor does such a great job talking about oppression and patriarchy, he is making me change my mind about my major.

Overall Experience: There are a lot of resources on campus that help students achieve greatness, students just need to go out and look for them.

Campus Housing: It does the job but for the price I expect better conditions.

Overall Experience: I do not regret coming to UT. I have made friendships that I know will last a lifetime and memories as well. I came to Austin overwhelmed and I still am because I am Hispanic attending a predominately white school but it hasn't been bad. I've learned so much coming here, and my eyes have been opened regarding so many topics.

Health & Safety: Campus is not very safe and UT, UTPD and APD don't seem to be too concerned with actually keeping its students safe. Homeless are a huge problem in Austin but even more so in the areas just around campus where many students live. There are many reports of students being assaulted by homeless but the police do literally nothing about it. UT doesn't do much to keep homeless off campus and out o fbuildings at night. Probably why someone was slaughtered while leaving her class just a few weeks ago.

Overall Experience: A lot of the classes I take - especially the ones directly related to my major - are small. I like this a lot because it makes discussion a lot easier to understand.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: UT is a really great school, but more than likely you will need a graduate degree to be worth anything nowadays

Greek Life: A lot of people are in greeks, especially those living in west campus. West campus is where most of the houses are, but even those who live in west campus and arent in greeks have a lot of parties.

Athletics: I dont pay much attention to sports

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Overall the school really is great. Some of the classes I am required to take are pretty boring, but the ones relating to my major are really interesting and fun. The online classes need updating, as the technology often shuts down and hinders many students ability to take quizzes and such, and teachers are not always sympathetic to students who were victim to poor technology preventing them from doing an assignment. It is a very big school which sometimes makes it hard to make many friends. The university seems more concerned with their image than with their students well being at times.

Health & Safety: Administrators need to work harder to put a process in place that is safe for students to report and litigate.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: My experience here as an undergad has been awesome. However, it is very expensive and if your parents do not help you will be in so much debt.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
