Athletics: The athletics at our school truly revolve around the athletes and the fans. However, the two are not always welcoming to the other, and it can be difficult to join their ranks if you don't have previous experience in sports/athletics. The gyms are intimidating to a non-athlete, and the general population of athletes are condescending and dismissive.

Overall Experience: UT tries to be an all-inclusive school. Although it has its' moments, it does a good job of accomplishing that. My one year at UT has shaped me in a way that would never had happened had I gone anywhere else, and I wouldn't wish to attend any other college.

Overall Experience: As a sophomore in college now, I am happy that I chose UT Austin as my university. It is a diverse environment with many opportunities around. I never would have thought I would have great relationships with my professors, teachers, and volunteering organizers that would help me progress in my future endeavors.

Overall Experience: UT has so many different options as far as classes and it allows you to explore pretty much whatever you are interested in. Gen ed requirements are about the same as any other school but the professors at least all seem incredibly interested in and excited about their topic (even if your not) which makes some of the more boring classes better overall. I have not met a professor on campus who wasn't passionate and knowledgeable about their subject.

Overall Experience: The UT Alumni network is fantastic because of the extreme amount of school spirit as well as the sheer number or alumni that we have. UT also stresses the importance of internships from day one and has a lot of resources to help you find what is right for you.

Health & Safety: UT overall really is a very safe campus. You see campus police patrolling at all hours of the night and they are generally very friendly and helpful. It of course has the blue light system but it also has people you can call to walk or drive you home at night from anywhere on campus. UT really strives to make its campus safe. The students and administration are also very active in trying to stop sexual assault on campus. There are a lot of programs to make students more aware about sexual assault as well as student groups working together to make the campus safer overall. I have never felt unsafe on the UT campus

Campus Housing: UT housing is overall pretty nice. Even if you don't get your first choice of housing there really isn't a bad place to live. Even Jester (which I was terrified of) is shockingly nice as they have just re-modeled the whole building. The dorms are about average size but they come with a fridge and microwave automatically and most have a sink in the room which is really nice. Also living on campus is a great way to meet people your first year there

Greek Life: If you're interested in Greek Life there is a lot out there for you and a lot of different options. I do not participate in Greek Life but I don't think I am missing out because of that. You can find a mix of both good and bad

Athletics: I am not a hugely athletic person however UT does everything in its power to make physical fitness and sports an appealing activity for it's students. The gyms on campus are beautiful and the athletic classes offered are incredibly fun and challenging. Additionally I believe our school spirit rivals pretty much all other campuses. Once you are a longhorn you are one for life

Overall Experience: I didn't realize the UT would be the perfect school for me but once I arrived it was fantastic. It's large enough that anyone can find a place where they belong

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: It's ok but sometimes there isn't enough light in some spots

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: i love this place, everything i expected it to be.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: i feel pretty safe, campus police are around regularly.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: the facilities are nice, especially Jester. But theyre small compared to the price.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: great campus life and quality education

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: UT is an amazing school with a beautiful campus and such amazing and diverse people!

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I am still pursing my degree, but I know that we have been given adequate information on what do to reach employment

Health & Safety: Being in a big city can be scary at times, especially at night. UT provides many ways to stay safe, such as an organization that walks you to where you need to go if you are alone at night. There are also many support groups and people to talk to at UT. Longhorns definitely take care of each other.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Housing at UT cost more than tuition itself. The rooms are small for the most part.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't have much of an opinion of Greek Life. If you're into it, you're into it. If not, then that's okay.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: It is amazing to be a part of the Longhorn sports! There is a lot of energy and school spirit. However, it is a bit pricey to get into games without the "Big Ticket", so beware.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The University of Texas, though challenging, is a great school to be at! You are surrounded by people who are intelligent and driven to be successful.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
