4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: So much to do here. Academically and socially. Fun football games

4 College Freshman

Technology: A lot of computer labs and availability. The internet is reasonably priced too

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Many places to eat off campus. Many different options.

Parking: The campus is very big. However if you buy parking on campus it is only for one location for the entire year, so you can not drive around campus.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Austin has a huge foodie culture, which is fun a lot of times, but also can get really expensive, especially for students. There's a ton of food trucks to check out and if you ever feel bored with your food choices, you can pretty much assume there will be a new place coming up soon.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I haven't gotten any scholarships. I've applied for a ton, but since it's a public university unless you are near-destitute you're pretty much expected to be able to pay for it on your own.

5 College Junior

Local Area: Austin is the best place to live. I don't know a person who lives here that doesn't like it. People are moving here all the time because it's so fantastic. There's tons of things to do all the time, you can basically rent a dog to run around with you, kayak, see a free concert. If you're bored, it's your fault.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
