Off-Campus Housing: There are many, many apartments near campus, so it is not difficult to find an apartment but usually the rent may be a bit high but usually 2-3 people sign to a room, thus the price lowers a bit.

Parking: There are many parking options but the ones closest to the dorms must be vacated by permit holders on home football game days to may room for visitors.

Academics: For my major Radio-Television-Film, it is a great spot to be. The college of communication here is up to date and always finding ways to give students opportunities that give you real world experience.

Academics: The professors here are challenging, in the way that they want for you to think critically about topics you may not have thought of before

Campus Quality: I have yet to find the thing that sets this campus apart from other settings. Diversity of the campus is perhaps the best thing I can conjure.

Campus Quality: There are many places to study, but since the campus is very crowded with students on most days, it is difficult to find a seat anywhere! So I usually retreat back to my dorm to study. Also, green space is almost non-existent.

Off-Campus Dining: there are many options available. But as a college student, is difficult to find healthy and cost efficient alternatives.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
