Off-Campus Dining: Austin is the greatest culinary city in the Southwest if not the US

More varity could not be found anywhere and most at very reasonable prices.

Off-Campus Housing: I have chosen to stay on campus so far. There are a great deal of off campus options but I have enjoyed the campus so far.

Campus Quality: I love UT - Austin. The people who attend, the staff and faculty, the programs and organizations. I am involved and connected and it was very easy to do so. I have found many departments where I have needed questions answered and the people working in those departments went above and beyond to help. I have a terrific academic advisor and I am plugged into several groups.

Campus Quality: I utilize the fitness center several times a day. It is more than adequate and provides workout time as well as friend time. I am involved in a couple of different Christian groups and I love it. I also have been active in a weekly study group that I got a great deal out of.

Campus Housing: The housing I have lived in has been cramped for two people but I have enjoyed the overall experience. I really like the close proximity to my classes, the social aspects of being with friends, and the access to the workout facility. Since I know this living situation is temporary I like it fine. I wish parking were more plentiful.

Health & Safety: I have never witnessed or experienced a crime of any type on campus.

Administration: The dorms are very secure in that all doors are locked including the community bathrooms that are already behind locked exterior dorm doors. Security is provided at a very efficient level. This creates a safe feeling environment.

Greek Life: I personally don't like Greek life.

Off-Campus Housing: Best location it could be.

Majors: I had to go through the CAP program to be admitted into UT Austin, it was a good opportunity but the program definitely has its flaws in regards to transferable courses. It was a very limiting year and perhaps a slight waste of money just for the prestige of becoming a student at UT.

Majors: I am happy with the path I'm going on, I cant wait to see what opportunities I can find. I do have job concerns but hope I can operate independently eventually rather than join an endless search of employers.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
