Athletics: They have a variety of different teams and classes. I take yoga classes at the rec center and the facilities are really nice. Although Gregory gym is usually packed there is a lot of thing from courts to machines to a rock wall.

Health & Safety: They have services that will accompany home as well as phone lines throughout campus if you need to call 911. Overall campus safety is taken seriously and generally pretty good.

Drug Safety: UT requires an alcohol education course before you enter school which many people find helpful. Also if you don't want to do anything you don't have too.

Guys & Girls: There is a variety of different looking people. The sorority and fraternity people look a certain way, but their social events are open to the public usually.

Transportation: The bus system goes most places and it is nice to have. However, it runs infrequently and it can be very crowded depending on the time of day. Thankfully a lot of places are within walking distance.

Party Scene: There is almost always something going on. 6th street has one of the best party scenes around, and the atmosphere in the bars are great.

Diversity: There is a club for almost anything you can imagine here. You can always find a club that fits your needs or you can create your own. The fact that the campus is in Austin make it very accepting of all types of diversity from religious to political beliefs.

Administration: It is strict in certain areas but they don't really enforce it enough.

Diversity: There are so many different people with different perspectives that i got in contact with. Everyone is pretty much very minding their own business and very accepting as well.

Scholarships: I've applied but didn't really have a chance to get it.

Off-Campus Housing: It's pretty convenient to live close to where you have your classes the most but if you have to go to the library that opens 24 hrs, walking home is a bit of a hassle compared to living in the dorms that are only like a minute away. Other than that everything is great living off campus. Food you can cook, a room you can really rest in and freedom.

Weather: I love to be outside and the weather is just like home so it does not bother me.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I do not do drugs, so I am not sure about this question.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The living doesn't bother me. It is close to campus so I do not mind it.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Usually alcohol consumption happens off campus, and people just come back to the dorms drunk. I am sure many people drink in their rooms but you don't really see it unless you are partaking in it. I've never seen alcohol as an issue. There are many people who smoke marijuana occasionally, you see it at parties, but once again, probably not going to happen while they are actually on campus, and nothing I'm too concerned with. The way I see it, we are adults now, if you don't want to do something, don't do it. Peer pressure is for high school.

Transportation: The campus shuttle and all the capitol metro buses are all free for students, which is REALLY convenient. Taxis are about as expensive as you'd expect, I'd only take one if I was in a real pinch or hurry stuck downtown. Capitol Metro and the taxi services here have cell phone apps so it is really easy to hail a cab or figure out which bus route you need to take, if you have a smartphone. We have zip cars here I just don't know how they work or care since I have my own car.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
