Health & Safety: I feel great while on campus! I really cannot complain about the safety here.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics here at UT are what truly drives students here. It is so great to be surrounded by passionate fans!

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: For the price that I am paying, I cannot complain. But the commute is killer. I wish I could afford something much closer to campus.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Everything is great don't get me wrong, but the pricing is what kills you.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: It really does not get any better.. UT has the most attractive people I have ever seen.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: Diversity at UT is big, however students tend to group up with people of the same ethnicity/race. The Koreans stick together, the Desi stick together, the Mexicans stick together, and so on. Of course, that's for the most part. I don't know why this happens, but people in UT just tend to cluster like that. Overall, the population is very liberal and accepting of others. I think that students are definitely not afraid of being who they truly are here in UT because there's such a large population that everybody finds their "group".

Greek Life: If you're interested in Greek life, there's definitely plenty of options available. There's the traditional sororities and fraternities that you see in the movies and some other low-key ones. Some of them are even race-exclusive. I think that for the most part, non-Greeks tend to think negatively of Greek students, whom tend to display a sassy, stuck up behavior (not all of them, of course). Most Greek houses are located not too far from campus and are always location for parties on weekends.

Parking: There aren't any parking spaces available hardly ever and the prices are outrageous compared to other Texas Universities.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Drugs and alcohol and the honor code are the most enforced but the rest are still enforced just not as strictly.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Parties are everywhere but security is always right and underage drinking isn't really tolerated.

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: 6th street and some of the best fraternities in the nation. I think that says it all.

4 College Freshman

Academics: McCombs business school is one of the top business schools in the world and also our communication school is ranked very high and one of the best in the nation.

5 College Freshman

Academics: One of the top universities in the world.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Everything you need is within walking distance and the buses and taxis can also take you places if you need to venture off campus but having a car is still more convenient in my opinion.

5 College Senior

Health & Safety: the student health center is great! They can usually get you in pretty quickly given the size of the campus.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life is huge at UT Austin. Great parties but separates the Greeks and non Greeks by a lot.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Austin is well known for it's diverse and local dining and the options around campus don't disappoint. There are many chains available near by as well as local dining and lots of food trucks!

4 College Senior

Majors: I like the social work program. I have my bachelors degree in SW from another university. work has been great but the pay is not good. If I could do it over again I would choose the same field. I am concerned about trying to find a job in Austin as it has been difficult for me to do so in the past.

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: UT Austin is one of the best public schools in the nation for academics, sports, student life, and diversity.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: We have many academic libraries and one LBJ library that is a very popular attraction in Austin. We also have many museums and of course Austin is the capital of Texas. The Capitol building is a short walk away from campus.

4 College Senior

Local Area: Austin is a great place to live. The only problem I have is the city population is growing and I do not think the city had prepared for this growth.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Haven't had any issues with safety although I still have some concerns because campus lies in the heart of the city. Health has never been an issue for me.

5 College Senior

Campus Quality: The Dinitto Career center is awesome.

4 College Senior

Campus Quality: Student center services are a great but parking around it is horrible and congested.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: Austin is the live music capital of the world, and we are known for our fantastic night life on 6th street. The city also lies in the beautiful hill country of Texas so scenery is wonderful. Austin is a city loved by many.

Most students agree that they have loved their time here at UT, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. College is the best time of your life, and I can’t think of a better place to spend it than at the University of Texas. Students get a great education while having an awesome college town with everything at their disposal. Don’t try to graduate early. Enjoy your time at UT—go cheer on the Longhorns at all the home games for all sports: football, basketball, baseball, intramurals. See the amenities that the Forty Acres has to offer—the Harry Ransom Center, go to our libraries and see our more than eight million volumes. Go to Gregory Gym and the Rec Center—you have a free gym membership for four years or more—use it.

I came to UT convinced that I was going to transfer to a school in California in the spring. I spent two days here before school started and I never wanted to leave, even to go home and visit my parents and high school friends! I couldn’t leave because I was always afraid that I would miss something because there was always something exciting going on. If you are worried about the fact that UT is so big, don’t. All you have to do is find your niche, and everything else should fall into place. You can find it within your dorm, apartment, organization, fraternity, sorority, or classmates. Although, at times, it may seem overwhelming, UT is not nearly as big as it sounds. All you have to do is make friends, which you will, and the campus will seem infinitely smaller. Come join us!
