3 College Sophomore

Athletics: UTA isn't a big sports school

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I live at home and all my friends either live at home or on campus

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of places within walking distance of campus that it's pretty affordable

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The president is not willing to listen to student grievances.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The connection cafe is awful, but the plaza has really good fast food.

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus, however I've heard from friends that living off campus is boring and most get stuck in traffic after school.

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many options for off-campus dining, since some places on campus close early and aren't open on the weekends.

College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't care for parties, or people who party. I don't know about them.

3 College Freshman

Administration: They are very nice, they are not too strict. They however are very strict when it comes to drug use on campus.

Scholarships: I turned my financial aid in January, but apparently was missing something I didn't find out until the day before the final deadline.

College Freshman

Campus Food: I don't eat at the dining halls, or have a meal plan

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are nice, if you want something more spacious choose the South Side (all girls side), if you want something that is still spacious but all so a bit crowded then choose the north side (Co-ed).

5 College Senior

Administration: The campus is very strict about rules and regulations

Off-Campus Housing: I stay on campus, so I have no idea what off-campus housing is like. But from what I hear you have more freedom. Plus, you can live by yourself and having a random roommate sucks. You need to room with someone you know in a dorm, or else you're better off staying in an apartment solo.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a few places within walking distance, but it is either a pizza or chicken joint.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I haven't gone to too many parties this year, but typically if a fraternity or sorority is involved I hear the parties are good.

3 College Freshman

Administration: In my year at school I have witnessed anyone really getting in to trouble for alcohol or drugs. You usually see in the school paper that someone has been charged or arrested for possession. But it's not like it happens everyday.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Apply as early as possible. The sooner you apply the better off you will be to get the aid you need.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is usually tasty, but sometimes there isn't much variety. The best way to use your dining dollars is to buy some food for the weekend, especially if you're meal plan doesn't allow you to eat in the cafe on the weekends. If you just eat in the cafe all week, and buy a couple of meals for the weekend it'll help you save money.

Campus Housing: The dorms are a very great option. They give you an opportunity to meet a lot of new people, and there are plenty of events to help you meet those who are similar to you in character. It's costly for the newer dorms, but if you aren't worried about being in one of the newly built dorms the cost is not too bad.

Off-Campus Housing: The housing at UTA is great quality wise. ITs just the cost of living there is so high. I don't understand how people can pay for them while being a full time student. They range from $600 to $800 a month. That is way out of my budget zone. If I could I would live in the apartments in a heart beat but I just can't afford it.

Off-Campus Dining: The costs on campus are really high. Some people can pay for it but others still have to break a limb and give an arm and a leg just have one meal. It could lower some because we are college students and our funds are very limited.

Administration: It is very reasonable. They aren't over and beyond in most parts of the schools but there are some parts of the school that try and treat people like they are still high school students instead of grown adults getting their education.

Party Scene: I don't really go to parties. It's not that I don't like parties because some are okay but I would rather sit back and have an awesome movie night instead.

Scholarships: I don't get any money from the school itself but i get state money from my fafsa. I got accepted later in the year and by the time I got accepted they were done giving out money even though I was a transferring honor student from phi thetta. Even though I worked really hard this year and got into the Honor society organization I am still recieving no money from the school itself and because I have to have my parents tax information the money I was getting that got me by decreased. I'm am going to have to work alot harder or I may end up having to transfer to another school where I can get in and do better financially at, which is the last thing I want to do, because I really like UTA.
