Party Scene: The party scene is pretty swell, if you can find a party. If you walk down the streets in the fort, it is easy to come across a handful of parties here and there. Unfortunately UTPD and KPD use all of their might to eliminate these parties which is bolluxs.

Party Scene: I'm not a party person, but the parties I do go to are always fun

UT is extremely lucky to have the Strip, which provides a multitude of places for new people to meet in a convenient location. If you get bored with what the Strip has to offer, the Old City is always an option. There are so many nightspots in Knoxville, there is a pretty good chance you will find something that fits your personality. Most freshmen, however, will not have access to these places until they turn 21. Five years ago, bars on the Strip let just about anybody in. Security has been extremely tightened in recent years due to a few mishaps, and the police keep a close eye on any large concentration of party-goers.

Until your 21st, there are still plenty of places you can go and socialize. Have a good time, and be careful so you can return next year to party!

Cotton Eyed Joe

A nightclub catering to urban cowboys, Cotton Eyed Joe's music selection is suited to fans of two-step, as well as top 40 hits. They also have pool, darts, an in-house roping ring, and a mechanical bull if dancing's not your thing. There is a loose dress code policy, meaning guys will have to tuck in their shirts, but don't expect the same propriety from the ladies. There are 18-and-over nights, too, and no cover till 7 p.m.
