Drug Safety

{{ error }}
4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Alcohol is the drug that I have seen to be most prevalent, especially for Fraternities. I have honestly rarely seen much more than that around campus. It's all about the crowd you hangout with. UTK takes drugs very seriously on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There is some underage drinking, but nothing out of the ordinary for a large campus.

4 College Student

Drug Safety: There have been a lot of changes regarding the code of conduct at the school.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: No serious drug abuse is common place. Mostly recreational.

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: Nothing unexpected at a college campus.

Most students agree that there is not a lot of pressure to do drugs at UT. For someone who wants drugs, however, they are not impossible to find. You will probably know people that do it, but they probably will never pressure you to do it. Most students agree that the people who choose to do drugs keep it to themselves and their close friends.

Marijuana is the number one cash crop in the state of Tennessee and is easily the cheapest and most readily available drug. A lot of drug users limit their use to marijuana alone and do not use any harder drugs. The harder drugs can be found throughout Knoxville, but are well hidden. You will probably not have many encounters with drugs other than marijuana. With drugs in general, it is easy to maintain your stance once it is made, and people will handle your decisions as an adult the majority of the time.
