College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I grew up in Martin, so I live at home. I have seen some homes and apartments available for people, and it is usually a lot cheaper if you find people to room with. Safety is not an issue around town, so any neighborhood is just about fine.

Off-Campus Dining: There is not much variety, but what you do find is usually good and passable. Most of the places around campus give student discounts. La Cabana is definitely one of the best restaurants in town for Mexican cuisine, while Sammies' offers unique sandwiches.

College Sophomore

Administration: I have not had any problems with school policies affecting my academics or social life. I am not one to party and usually stay in a study, so the policies against alcohol and partying do not really affect my college experience.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The financial aid process was very easy to achieve through Banner and the Administrations office, if necessary. Scholarships are easy to obtain, if you have a decent GPA.

2 College Sophomore

Party Scene: The party scene is basically limited to Greeks because all the major parties are Greek oriented. Also, the bars are gross. Martin is not really a place to throw a party due to the amount of families and the location.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The campus food is very affordable, if you aren't on a required meal plan. There are many choices, and the cafeteria also serves excellent food to students and the community.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I currently do not live on campus, but I have heard positive things from other students.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are plenty of apartments all around Martin.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Fast food, pizza, Mexican, a Chinese place. That's about it.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: This is a small town in a rural area, so the rules are fairly conservative.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I was able to get the financial aid I needed even as a transfer student.

Campus Food: Campus food is above average, but not amazing. Sunday brunch once every month is really great though.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There are a lot of parties at UTM, if youre a socialite, you will love it. I dont attend many parties but I always have fun when I do.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: There is not much variety, but it's not the worst. it is a little over priced.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: there are a variety of housing options for you ranging from affordable to fancy. the staff is very friendly and they take care of the housing facilities.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love going to UTM! the classes are small enough you can know everyone and get one on one help from professors or tutors. Every class so far has been a good overview at the beginning getting more in dept as it progressed which to me aids learning. The courses offered are sometimes a bit slim for my major and the classes I want overlap or can't be taken at the same time.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are lots of opportunities for internships and the administration is always sharing information about possible job options with the school.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: CAmpus is near enough to housing that there are very few issues.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Love how there are rules and you are expected to follow them and if you don't they are enforced.
