4 College Junior

Athletics: The athlete facilities are amazing, and the gym is incredible.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: All of the teams are some of the best in the conference. None of the students really attend anything though. The Rec center is very nice and offers a lot to do.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I haven't really focused much on the athletics at the school but I do know that football and basketball are a big deal. I love going to football games (even if our team isn't the best). I haven't been to a basketball game just because I'm not a big basketball fan but outer basketball teams are really good and made it to march madness my freshman year

3 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Haven't been to a game

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Athletes are everywhere you go on campus. They seem to do well and there is a a lot of spirit throughout the campus to boost them and keep them motivated.

Sports do not define UTC. Varsity sports do not get much attention on campus. Football is not a strong sport that whips up a lot of school spirit at UTC. The men's and women's basketball programs are more popular among students and the community. Both teams often end up in tournaments. The men's team recently won a spot in the Sweet 16, and the women are notorious for winning the Southern Conference Tournament every year. Wrestling, club baseball, softball, and the tennis teams are lesser known but very good.

Intramural sports are very popular with the student body and Greeks. There are many different intramural sports, and students often watch the teams play. The only complaints among students are that the games are not very organized and are often rescheduled without prior notice.

School Spirit
Students are spirited about their academic departments, but athletic school spirit is not strong because none of the sports teams is large or in the same category as neighboring schools. School paraphernalia, however, is very popular for T-shirts, hoodies, and hats.
Getting Tickets
Since athletics are not huge, it is easy to get tickets to any sporting events as a student, and they are always free. You simply show up to the event and present your student ID. At a game against a big university, however, sometimes tickets will have a high demand, so they will pass out tickets a couple days early with proof of a student ID.
